Kurt showed the commission a mockup he made of a cemetery brochure that might work for the time being at a reasonably inexpensive cost. The brochure had a map of the cemetery on one side with section markers. The other side had a small map of directions to the cemetery and then printed cemetery rules. The committee discussed and overall liked the design and it was recommended that Tom Nelson take that design to Alpha Graphics to see what the cost for the design artwork, printing and tn folding would cost. Kurt also showed us the Glossy six fold brochure from the Veterans Cemetery and the commission agreed that within a year or two they would like to have a brochure like that. There was discussion about installing a weather tight box at the Kiosk at the cemetery where people could grab a brochure when visiting. The brochure would also be available at City Hall. There was also some discussion about,at some point in the future, placing the brochure on a cemetery page on the city website and perhaps a link to a national cemetery directory which would list the names and burial sections of all those in the cemetery. The commission will look at the cost of getting some 8"X 8"Cor-Ten 3/16" plates and having the section numbers cut out of them with a water jet and welded to rebar for section markers. These then would be designed to be exposed to the weather and would not decay and would be easily removed and replaced by the maintenance crews when necessary. There was some mention to the issue that the combining of the Tree Board, Park Board and the Cemetery Commission was still ongoing with the council and that issue was in the discussion process at this time. There was some discussion about whether the City of Laurel or Yellowstone County or both owned some of the roads in the cemetery and that was placed under, "Future Meetings" by the Chair.Street names xvasnotdiocuosedatthenmee1ingandtha1subjectvvi||bep|acedunder, "FuturaMecdngs"asvxw||.The meeting was adjourned at 6:18 PM.
