February 21, 2017
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana, was held in the
Council Chambers and called to order by Mayor Mark Mace at 6:30 p.m. on February 21, 2017.
COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Emelie Eaton Doug Poehls
Bruce McGee Richard Herr

COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: None
OTHER STAFF PRESENT: Noel Eaton, City Planner
Mayor Mace led the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag.
Mayor Mace asked the council to observe a moment of silence.
MINUTES:
Motion by Council Member Nelson to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of
February 7, 2017, as presented, seconded by Council Member Dickerson. There was no public
comment or council discussion. A vote was taken on the motion. All eight council members present
voted aye. Motion carried 8-0.
CORRESPONDENCE.
Laurel Chamber of Commerce: Minutes of January 12, 2017; Agenda for February 9, 2017.
Office of the Governor: February 6, 2017 - Notice of Big Sky Economic Development Trust Fund
Grant Award for the City of Laurel Riverside Park Master Plan.
COUNCIL DISCLOSURE OF EX PARTE COMMUNICATIONS.
PUBLIC HEARING.
CONSENT ITEMS:
• Clerk/Treasurer Financial Statements for the month of January 2017.
• Approval of Payroll Register for PPE 02/12/2017 totaling$170,101.59.
• Receiving the Committee/Board/Commission Reports into the Record.
--Budget/Finance Committee minutes of February 7, 2017 were presented.
--Public Works Committee minutes of January 9, 2017 were presented.
--Council Workshop minutes of February 14, 2017 were presented.
The mayor asked if there was any separation of consent items. There was none.
Motion by Council Member Eaton to approve the consent items as presented, seconded by
Council Member Poehls. There was no public comment or council discussion. A vote was taken on
the motion. All eight council members present voted aye. Motion carried 8-0.
CEREMONIAL CALENDAR: None.
REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS: None.

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION (THREE-MINUTE LIMIT): None.
SCHEDULED MATTERS:
• Confirmation of Appointments.
Laurel Volunteer Ambulance Service:
Mayor Mace appointed Aleah Robinson and Sean Davis to the Laurel Volunteer Ambulance Service.
Motion by Council Member Poehls to approve the Mayor's appointments of Aleah Robinson
and Sean Davis to the Laurel Volunteer Ambulance Service, seconded by Council Member
Mountsier. There was no public comment or council discussion. A vote was taken on the motion.
All eight council members present voted aye. Motion carried 8-0.
• Ordinance No. 017-01: An ordinance amending Chapter 16 of the Laurel Municipal
Code to update the City's Subdivision Regulations. First reading.
Motion by Council Member Mountsier to adopt Ordinance No. 017-01, seconded by Council
Member Dickerson. There was no public comment or council discussion. A roll call vote was taken
on the motion. All eight council members present voted aye. Motion carried 8-0.
ITEMS REMOVED FROM THE CONSENT AGENDA: None.
COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS (ONE-MINUTE LIMIT): None.
COUNCIL DISCUSSION:
Council Member Poehls stated that the Emergency Services Committee will not meet on Monday,
February 27th. The next meeting will be on March 27tH
UNSCHEDULED MATTERS: None.
ADJOURNMENT:
Motion by Council Member McGee to adjourn the council meeting, seconded by Council
Member Eaton. There was no public comment or council discussion. A vote was taken on the
motion. All eight council members present voted aye. Motion carried 8-0.
There being no further business to come before the council at this time, the meeting was adjourned at
6:38 p.m.
