Board Meeting Minutes
Nov. 21~t at the Chamber
The Laurel Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors met on Thursday, Nov 21st, 2007 at the
Chamber from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Tn attendance were Past President 31m Taylor Directors: Becky
Dickerson, Lynn George, Steve Diefenderfer, Members: Kammy, -]ared and Executive Secretary
Joanne Flynn
]im called the meeting to order and presented the minutes for approval. Steve made a motion
to approve seconded by Lynn. The bills were also presented and approved after a motion by
Lynn and a second by Steve.
-]oanne announced that we have another new business join, McDonalds is now a member.
She mentioned that the inside of the cabin entry way was complete and looks great.
-]oanne stated that the grant for Custer Country was coming nicely and that she had called .Jim
Schaffer to get some questions answered. One question is can we include brochure holders in
the request along with the printing etc. Since ]im said that it was worth a try, the question is
now presented to the board. After ~]oanne gave a breakdown of the cost, Becky motioned that
we add it to the grant request, seconded by -]ared..loanne stated that she will have this in the
mall next week.
Most of the conversation was concentrated around Christmas and the work dates are set for
repair's and hanging the Deco's.
Also -]oanne asked if the board wants to do another Member Appreciation Open House like last
year. All were in agreement that it was a nice event and well attended. Becky made a motion
to approve seconded by -]ared. Becky will help -]oanne with the details and -]oanne will get the
invitations out ASAP.
-]oanne reminded all that we will be having an open house on Sunday -Elementary PTA will be
there with some gifts for kids and also Costco contacted her to come in with hot cocoa, coffee
and cookies.
Nominations for the new Board were discussed and suggestions were made to be presented to
the Nomination Committee. A new committee will be formed as entire original committee is
inactive at this time. This committee will meet soon.
DSA Dinner - The committee needs to meet ASAP and get started on this..]oanne will send out
a letter to all members with nomination forms. Although -]C's organize this event, this year, we
still need to fill our individual awards.
Bud et Committee - this committee also needs to plan a date to meet very soon.

*Next meeting we will have a guest speaker, .]ames Caniglia, City Planner.
