Board Meeting Minutes
The Meeting was held on January 12th, 2017 at KCs Palace. In attendance were: Executive Board
Members: President- Mary Lou Batalden,VP- Cindy Drake,Treasurer-Sandy Reese and executive
secretary- Marcia Hafner. Directors: Monica Rodenberger, Billie Lehman,Ann Soares, Bruce Larson, Carrie
Smith, Lucas Larson, Brent Renier, Renee Studiner, Katie Whitmoyer. Members: .
Mary Lou called the meeting to order.
The minutes were approved: moved to approve-Sandy, 2"d- Renee.
The finandal report was given and bills were presented for payment.
Guest Speakers:
• Dave Weller spoke for the Exchange Club. They are trying to get a group together in Laurel. They are
a service group that works for the prevention of child abuse and with the local vet groups. They will be
having a couple of informational meetings for anyone that may be interested.
• Jean Carroll Thompson spoke for Christmas to Remember. She would like to work with the Chamber
to get more of the businesses involved with Christmas to Remember.
Old BUSINESS
• New Hire Committee - We had 3 applications. It was decided to keep the job listing
open and see if we could get some more applications.
• Decorations- Decorations are down. Lumpy is looking into a way to fasten them to the poles in
a more secure fashion. We had 3 sets fall down in the wind. The city helped pick them up and
deliver them to us. It appears none of them are severely damaged, but we'll check them in the
fall.
• Open House -The weather was horrible, but we had a good turnout. Thank you to everyone
who brought goodies.
• Annual Meeting -The Annual Meeting is January 26th. Invitations are out. Get your RSVP's
and donations into the Chamber. So far we have a lot of wonderful donations. RSVP's are
running a little behind. We will need people to haul raffle items, etc. to the golf course on Jan.
26t. A sign up was passed around.
New BUSINESS
• Audit Committee&Budget- Members on the committee were addressed. Some of the
members have changed positions or are no longer on the board, but may still be on the
committees. Molly wants to get all the books ready to pass on to Sandy and then the audit
committee can meet.

OLD BUSINESS
• Annual Meeting -We had less people attend, 89, but we had a lot of great raffle items. I had
several calls about how nice it was. We made a couple hundred more than last year on the raffles,
etc.
• Middle School Volunteer Day- Still looking for somewhere to volunteer. Feb. 22nd.
• New Hire -Job is still open.
NEW BUSINESS -
• Restore America's Parks- Present letter.
• Reminder of Exchange Club Meeting -Thursday, 5:30 at KC's Palace.
• July 4th -Already gotten 3 entries.
