Dan Shapiro, PhD, spoke on Burnout and Resilience in Healthcare. The first regular RiverStone Board of Health meeting of 2017 will be on February 1. Committees have continued to meet on their normal schedules. To demonstrate RiverStone Health's dedication to this community, enclosed is information listing the awards and grants RiverStone Health and RiverStone employees have received over the past five years. RiverStone Health's leadership will be watching the challenges of the Montana legislative session as well as challenges and changes with the new presidential administration and the impact to healthcare. The new clinic construction is a few months behind schedule due to permits, additional ground work and the recent cold weather. Best regards, 7,5p t C1/ Norma J Clevel RiverStone Bo d o Health RiverStone Health and RiverStone Health staff Awards Conferred, FY12—FY16 2012 Lil Anderson, the former President& CEO of RiverStone Health, received the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award from MHA, an Association of Montana Health Care Providers formerly known as the Montana Hospital Association. The Award honors individuals who have made significant contributions to healthcare in Montana. Marilyn Tapia, Director of Environmental Health Services,received the 2012 Award for Excellence from the Montana Environmental Health Association (MEHA) for making notable contributes to the field through excellence of leadership and motivational skills. Anna LaFountain, Registered Sanitarian, earned the 2012 Vernon E. Sloulin Rookie of the Year award from the Montana Environmental Health Association (MEHA) as a new association member who has made a significant contribution to the field. Community Health Services received the Lighthouse Award, for successful immunization strategies that are evidence-based and can be replicated at other clinics. The Assessment, Feedback, Incentives and Exchange (AFIX) improvement award also recognized the dramatic improvement in RiverStone Health's immunization rates,which increased by 32 percent between 2009 and 2011. Judy Stewart,Vice President of Organizational Improvement,was honored by the YWCA as one of its 20123 Salute to Women honorees. 2013 RiverStone Health Clinic was among the first in Montana to earn recognition as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) from the National Committee for Quality Assurance. The PCMH model of care focuses on engaging patients to provide highly coordinated care and create long-term relationships. Nancy Taylor,Vice President of Clinical Operations, earned the leadership award from the Community Health Association of Mountain/Plains States (CHAMPS) for guiding RiverStone Health's Clinic and its satellite clinics toward their designation as a Patient Centered Medical Home. CHAMPS recognizes outstanding leaders in a six-state region. Dr. Roxanne Fahrenwald, Director of the Montana Family Medicine Residency at RiverStone Health and Senior Vice President of Clinical and Educational Integration,was one of five honorees chosen by the YWCA for their Salute to Women. 1 Hillary Hanson,Director of Population Health Services,received the Trail Worker Award from American Trails International as a leading advocate for a Complete Streets policy for Billings, an initiative that passed in 2011. Carla Cobb,Pharm-D, received the Montana Pharmacy Association's Bowl of Hygeia Award for community service. Cobb precepts many pharmacy students and residents,is active in the pharmacy association,has been president of the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists, and is a former president of the Billings chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. The United Way of Yellowstone County presented its first-ever Caring for Kids award to RiverStone Health for the public health team's outstanding commitment to advancing United Way's School Readiness and Youth Success Goals. The team was honored for its work on the Best Beginnings Council,which supports comprehensive early childhood services. RiverStone Health's Relay for Life team was recognized by the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Yellowstone County for raising the most money for the Relay for Life by an area healthcare team.RiverStone Health's staff raised in excess of$8,500 to support cancer research. Alyssa Auvinen,Public Health Prevention Specialist,was chosen for the 2013 Health Hero Award by the Eat Right Montana Coalition and the Montana Action for Healthy Kids Team. She was recognized for her commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles in worksite wellness policies and practices. Healthy by Design and the City of Billings received a professional project's award for Billings Complete Streets from the Montana Association of Planners. Hannah Silveus,a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Associate,was recognized for excellence by the National Network of Public Health Institutes for leading a quality improvement project to increase the number of WIC clients who return for services. Molly Hale, Community Health Services Program Manager,was recognized as one of the"40 under 40"honorees by The Billings Gazette. 2014 RiverStone Health was awarded public health accreditation by the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) as one of the first 44 accredited health departments in the nation and the first in Eastern Montana. RiverStone Health's School Nurse Services and the Montana Association of School Nurses were awarded the Presidential Advocacy Award of the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) for their legislative advocacy documenting the nurse/student ratio in Montana and spotlighting the challenges of under-resourced schools. 2 Sheri Pope, a case manager with Community Health Services, received the Bette Bohlinger Leadership Award from the Montana Cancer Control Coalition for her work on the Early Detection Team. Nikki Peterson, Registered Sanitarian, received the Vernon E. Sloulin Rookie of the Year Award from the Montana Environmental Health Association (MEHA). The award acknowledges the exceptional performance of a Registered Sanitarian with less than one year of experience in the field. The Health Insurance Outreach and Enrollment team earned the Gold Star Award from the Montana Primary Care Association for getting the most Health Insurance Marketplace enrollments among assistor organizations. Dr. Michael Downing,D.D.S,was inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, which recognizes outstanding service to the profession and community. Dr. Downing helped establish the RiverStone Health Dental Clinic in 2002,was its first director, and continues to practice at RiverStone Health. Carla Cobb,Pharm-D, received the 2015 Judith J. Saklad Memorial Award from the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) for outstanding dedication to the practice of psychiatric pharmacy. Cobb is a founding member of the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists, serves on the drug utilization review board for Montana Medicaid, the Montana Patient Centered Medical Home stakeholder council and the Pharmacy Quality Alliance. Chris Baumert,MD, a third year resident who joined the MFMR faculty and RiverStone Health Clinic medical staff after graduation,was recognized by the Society for Teachers of Family Medicine with the 2014 Resident Teachers Award in recognition of demonstrated interest in and commitment to family medicine education. Carla Cobb,Pharm-D,was honored as one of two outstanding women in a science,technology, engineering or math (STEM) related field by Montana State University Billings. Barbara Schneeman,Vice President of Communication and Public Affairs, received the Montana Public Health Association's highest honor, the Mary E. Soules Distinguished Service Award, for exemplifying public health principles and practices during her career. Bonnie Ready, R.N., received a Career Achievement Award from the Montana Public Health Association recognizing her 40 years as a public health nurse. Chris Baumert,M.D., Montana Family Medicine Residency Faculty, and Heather Fink,manager, Community Health Improvement,were named as 2014"40 Under 40"honorees in The Billings Gazette. Shawna Coleman received the Excellence in Worksite Health Promotion Award from the state for health and wellness activities and policies at RiverStone Health. 3 2015 RiverStone Health Clinic earned Level 3 recognition for a Patient-Centered Medical Home, the highest possible level of quality, from the National Committee for Quality Assurance. RiverStone Health was recognized as an Employer of Choice by the Billings Job Service Employers' Committee (JSEC), for providing leadership development, employee opportunities, and employee- driven community service efforts. John Felton,President and CEO,who received the 2015 Distinguished Partner Award from the College of Allied Health Professions at Montana State University Billings. The award recognizes his outstanding participation on the advisory board and as a preceptor for master's degree students. Jim Guyer, MD,MFMR Associate Director,was awarded the Legion of Merit award by the United States Air Force in recognition of his exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements. Kim McNamara,Hospice Services chaplain,was named Counselor of the Year by the Montana Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors based on her professional accomplishments, tenure, diversity of practice and other criteria. Garth Brand,MD,a third year resident who joined the MFMR faculty and RiverStone Health Clinic medical staff after graduation,was recognized by the Society for Teachers of Family Medicine with the 2015 Resident Teachers Award in recognition of demonstrated interest in and commitment to family medicine education. Adam Harris,a Registered Sanitarian, received the 2015 Department of Environmental Quality Excellence Award, from the Montana DEQ for his commitment to protect, sustain,and improve a healthful environment for future generations. 2016 Roxanne Fahrenwald, M.D., Senior Vice President of Clinical and Educational Integration and former Director of the Montana Family Medicine Residency at Stone Health,received the Gold Award from the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors (AFMRD). The award recognized her tenure as the residency's director, advocacy, scholarly work, peer development, professional development and service to family medicine organizations. Roxanne Fahrenwald, M.D., received the Montana Academy of Family Physician's 2016 Physician of the Year Award, co-awarded by the American Academy of Family Physicians, for her outstanding service to patients and communities in Montana 4 Roxanne Fahrenwald,MD was awarded the 2016 Franklin S. Newman Award for Rural Health Leadership by Montana State University and the Montana Office of Rural Health in recognition of her commitment to rural and underserved Montana populations. RiverStone Health received the South Side Neighborhood Task Force's first"Good Neighbor Award," based on its role in investing in the South Side and its example as a community partner. RiverStone Health immunization team received a quality improvement award from the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services for a follow-up system to increase immunization rates. Using the follow-up system, the immunization rates for 2 to 3-year-olds improved from 54 percent to 80 percent. Brenda Koch,immunization program coordinator at RiverStone Health, received the Exemplary Service Award from the Montana Public Health Association.The award honored Koch's commitment to reducing preventable diseases through improving vaccination rates.
