Old Business
Library will be going live in Partners on Monday, December 19th. Mike is scheduled to work the
morning to help with any glitches in the system that may occur. A Memorandum of
Understanding has been signed by the Board Chair Kline and Library Director Schmidt as part of
the Partner Sharing Group requirements.
Nancy has brought the budget back to the table. Northwestern Energy challenged their taxes (and
won)resulting in lower mill values for the City. All department heads have been asked to try to
save 7%of their management budget to help offset using reserves.Nancy stated that she feels
becoming a partner library will help with book expenses. Patrons can now borrow their books
from another library rather than have us purchase them. Laurel Library will still purchase new
books but stop"replacing" series just for one patron.
New Business
A new patron to the library,Jo Kramer, would like to see our library start a Friends group again.
Nancy will meet with her on December 21, 2016 at 10:00 am to talk about moving this idea
forward. She will also contact Pam Henley with Montana State Library about the previous
Friends group.
Other
TechTuesday continues to meet 6 times per year via Skype in the Community Room. It has been
1
suggested that these discussion be discontinued since they mainly center around Apple products and
not technology in general. Nancy will contact Bruce Schmoetzer about making sure he includes ALL tech
products in his discussions, not just Apple.
There is a mannequin currently residing at the library that needs to find a new home. It was in the old
Gene's Pharmacy but took up residence in the library when they closed. Some of the patrons and most
of the staff have asked that it find a new home. They have stated that it is"creepy"to walk into the back
room and see `someone' standing there. Nancy will ask Judy to find it a new home. Bill suggested that it
be given to the Hen House or Elite Salon.
