Board Meeting Minutes - Thursday Oct 25th, 2007

The Laurel Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors met on Thursday, Oct 11th, 2007 at D3's from ~.2:00-1:00. %n
attendance were: Pres .]erry Bauck,. Directors: Co-VP Barb McLeod, Becky Dickerson, and Steve Diefenderfer, ,Jim
Taylor, .]ared Kaiser, Dean Rankin, Lynn George and Exec. Secretary .loanne Flynn. Members present were Gary
Hodde, Ron Canfield, Coral Creek
Barb called the meeting to order, and asked for a moment of silence.
Minutes were presented and Barb noted that her last name had a typo, .]oanne will correct that. A motion was made
by Becky to approve the amended minutes, seconded by 3ira
Bills for payment, were presented and a motion was made by Lynn to accept, seconded by Gary.
Membership Drive: One new member was reported, the UPS Store that will be opening soon next to Classic Pizza.
Work Day at the Chamber-work will continue on the Cabin on Sunday Nov. 4~h with the scouts painting the strom
windows.
Laurel Brochure - .]oanne explained that the Closed Bid Letters had been sent out to 4 printers and that these
needed to be opened at a scheduled time. Lynn, Becky and Barb agreed to be present when opening the bids.
Christmas Decorations: There was a lot of discussion conoeming the Deco' Project..~im stated that he got the bracket
straps from Ace and that he had been working on the poles and changing out the brackets. We now have a map of where we
want the deco's to go but there may be some changes. All of the gadand is in and ready to be put bad( on the bare deco's. Jim
also said that the shop class is working on new banner brackets..Joanna suggestsd that the $500.00 grant fi-om Wal-Mart be
added to the awarded $500 grant fi-om NW Energy and that they both be used to help with the expenses of the improved
Chd~bf,as Deco's. Jim made a motion te do that and it was seconded by Steve. A work day was sat for Sunday the 4th at the
Chamber and at the Boxcar to work on all the deco's..]canne will Ken Miller and ask to use his electric
Annual I~leetino- .]oanne stated that the Centennial Commemorative Glasses are in and that they are AWESOME.
She brought some to pass around. All agreed. ~]oanne ask for volunteers to help with setup that afternoon and had a
list of items that needed to be done and picked up. A lot of last minute items to take care of.
NEW BUS?NESS - None at this time.

Laurel Alive- Unda filled us in on the upcoming dinner sponsored by Laurel Alive. There will be a silent auction and a
5 course meal provided. Tickets are now available for $60.00 per person or $100.00 per couple.
Coral stated that there will be a benefit for Shelly from Laurel Ford on Dec. 3rd at the Dealership and gave us a
glimpse of some of the prizes and items for the auction. 'Rckets are now available and Coral will send .loanne a copy
of the flyer to send to all the members. Coral asked if the board would donate a set of 4 of our glasses to the benefit
to be auctioned off - Coral made the motion and Barb seconded it.
There was a suggestion that we contact Curts Saloon and see if they have a private area for the board to meet and
have our lunch meeting..]oanne was asked to check on this.
