Box2D0545 ~' Helena, Montana 5962D-D545 * http:/Ihousing.rnt gov ~' NOV - 5 2007 We would like to personally invite you to the Consolidated Plan Public Meeting and a Joint Housing Application Workshop being held in Red Lodge on November 15, 2007 at the Rock Creek Resort, 6380 US Highway212 S~ - - Beginning at noon, the public meeting is open to everyone to discuss community needs and to review Montana's Consolidated Plan (CP) - Annual Action Plan. The CP, a tool used to identify needs and allocate resources to Montana communities and residents, is developed with information from interested citizens, especially Iow- and moderate-income citizens; local government officials; statewide and regional institutions and other organizations, including businesses, developers, and community and faith-based organizations; and public and private agencies that provide assisted housing, health services, and social services. The Consolidated Plan-Annual Action Plan serves as the state's annual application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), and Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) programs. Combined, these grant programs receive approximately $11 - $12 million annually from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) that is invested in Montana's communities. Each year, these funds are provided to Montana communities for decent, safe, and affordable housing; public facilities and other infrastructure; and economic opportunities for lower-income families. The draft 2008 Annual Action Plan will be available for review by November 9, 2007 on the Consolidated Plan website: housing.mt.gov/Hous_CP_Apps.asp. If you are unable to access the website, you can request printed copies of CP documents by caIling 406-841-2820 or TDD: 406-841-2702. Written comments on the Annual Action Plan will be accepted through December 31, 2007. Submit your comments to Leslie Edgcomb, CP Coordinator, Housing Division; P.O. Box 200545; Helena, MT 59620-0545. ~The Joint+leusingApplication Workshop begins at 8:00 a.m. and is yeur oppertunity toaccess several housing funding agencies in one location! Participating agencies include the Montana Department of Commerce's (MDOC) CDBG and HOME Programs, the Montana Board of Housing (MBOH), and USDA Rural Development. Representatives from the agencies will present overviews of their housing programs and application requirements. There will be plenty of opportunity to discuss your community development needs, ideas, and proposed applications with the agencies during the afternoon breakout session starting at 1:30 p.m. In addition, staff from the MDOC's Business Resources Division (BRD) will be available to take your questions. We hope to see you on November 15 in Red Lodge. The housing workshop is targeted primarily toward those interested in developing housing in their community and the application processes for various NBOH, CDBG, HOME, and Rural Development funding programs for housing; not for individuals seeking homebuyer and/or rental assistance.
