HomeMy WebLinkAboutLaurel Chamber of Commerce (45) Laurel Chamber of Commerce Board Meeting Minutes The Meeting was held on December 8th, 2016 at Guadalajara. In attendance were: Executive Board Members: President- Holly Anderson,VP-Amanda Powell,Treasurer- Molly Conrad and executive secretary- Marcia Hafner. Directors: Brent Renier, Mary Lou Batalden,Ann Soares, Bruce Larson, Billie Lehman,Jim Mourich, and Sandy Reese. New directors: Lucas Laron, Renee Studiner and Katie Whitmoyer. Holly called the meeting to order. The minutes were approved: moved to approve - Molly, 2nd -Sandy. The finandal report was approved and bills were presented for payment: moved to approve- Mary Lou, 2nd -Sandy. Old BUSINESS • New Hire Committee - Holly reported that the committee had put together some interview questions and a hiring ad. The committee will also require a Word and Excel test from Job Service. Deadline will be January 6th • Volunteers for Decos - Decorations are up. A sign-up was passed around for take down on January 8th. Marcia asked if we wanted to replace the decorations that was destroyed a couple of years ago. It was decided to wait and see how this year went. • Scholarship Fund - The committee met. It was decided to go with a program that the HS is trying to get started, a community based scholarship where the HS picks the recipients. New BUSINESS • Open House - A goodie sign-up was passed around. Extra invitations were also passed out. • Annual Meeting - Jan. 19th is the Laurel, Billings Central home game date, so the date will be January 26th. Raffle donation requests have been sent out. It was decided to keep the meal choices the same and the price the same. • Lion's Club Sign - It was voted to continue to support this endeavor at a cost of $50. Moved to approve- Molly, 2nd- Mary Lou. • Board Contact Sheet - New directors were given binders, contact info was gathered, committee sign-up sheet was passed around and new executive directors were reminded to sign bank signature cards. The new board will start next month. OPEN FORUM • LURA - The next meeting will be December 19th. SEG FCU was granted a sign grant. • Open Houses -_Yellowstone, 1St Interstate, and Western Security are all having Open Houses on the 16th • Business after Hours -. o Feb - o March - o April - Meeting Adjourned Next meeting - Jan. 12th, 2017 KC's Palace Agenda Laurel Chamber of Commerce January 12th, 2017 at KC's Palace Moment of Silence Presentation of minutes: Guest Speaker - Financial Report - Yellowstone Checking - $ 51,286.96 Altana CD $ 8,119.03 Altana Saving $ 748.07 Christmas Repair Fund $ 2,015.36 TOTAL $ 62, 169.42 Bills to be oresented for payment: - done to date Ace Hardware (New lock) $ 14.99 OLD BUSINESS • New Hire Committee - Interviews were held yesterday. • Decorations- Decorations are down. Lumpy is looking into a way to secure them to the poles in a more secure fashion. We had 3 sets fall down in the wind. • Open House-The weather was horrible, but we had a good turnout. Thank you to everyone who brought goodies. • Annual Meeting -The Annual Meeting is January 26th. Invitations are out. Get your RSVP's and donations into the Chamber. We will need people to haul raffle items, etc. to the golf course on Jan. 26th. NEW BUSINESS - • Audit Committee &Budget- Ribbon Cuttings None OPEN FORUM - • Business After Hours - If you would like to host an event, please contact the Chamber.
