We sponsor and support tobacco, drag and alcohol aducagon throughout the year. Our Race Against Drags (RAD) group has monthly activities that give students something fun and positive to do for a couple of hours. We send students to Teens in Partnership camp in the summer to develop leadership skills in teaching other students about the dangers of drugs. We have numerous clubs and activities to enhanl:e students' interest and hobbies, as well as all of the athletic and ~hool sponsored gro_ups, We also g _ar/~_ erj~ih_our Parent. Te, aclm~ Student ............ Association to provide six Friday Fun Nights thought the year. Friday Fun Nights provide two hours where students have a safe, supportive and supervised place to go and have fun. This is a great oppommlty for staff and parents to build important relationships with the kids in a fun environment. Students can participate in a variety of activities such as, physical games in the gym, board games, watch a movie, karaoke Dance Revolution, Jeopardy or just "hang out" with their, friends. Weather permitting; students can gaze at the sky thr. o. ugh the Art/Astronomy club's t&lescopes. Dinner is provided and all students are eligible for prizes through a random drawing. With the new building and addition of the 5* grade students, we are anticipating a great turnout at these popnlar events. Friday Fun Nights are free for all Laurel Middle School students. Our first Friday Fun Night is scheduled for October 12th from 5-7 p.m. All parents are welcome to attend. We have had generous support from the Laurel parents, businesses and community and are appreciative of your past efforts in developing healthy drug free students. We are asking for your continued help in promoting and providing a safe, supportive and positive environment for our youth.
