Board Meeting Minutes - Thursday Aug 9th, 2007
The Laurel Chamber of Commerce Board of Diructors met on Thursday, Aug 9thy 26th, 2007 at the Owl Caf6' from
12:00-1:00 p.m. In attendance were: Pres Jerry Bauck, Past President: Jim Taylor Directors: Rene' Stadiner, Becky
Dickerson and Exec. Secretary Joanne Flynn. Members present were Ron Canfield, Janet Vandersloot, Laurie Parpart
and Jared Kaiser.
Jerry called the meeting to order with a moment of silence.
Minutes were presented and a motion was made to approve by Renee', seconded by Jim
Bills were presented for payment, motion made by Jim and seconded by Becky.
(Joanne added a couple that had come in after agenda had been completed. She said she would add these to the agenda
for the records)
OLD BUSZNESS
Membershio Drive: None
City tOOth Birthday Committee Report - None
Yard Sale - Joanne.explained that she has spoken with St Anthony's and they changed the price of the hall to
$125.00.00 for the 2 day event Joanne has a work schedule for volunteers for the setup and for the sale too. She also has
a couple of kids that will be helping her.
Work Dav at the Chamber -Ethan will let us know as soon as everything is approved by the Billings Scout
office. Colors were approved by all.
Lock on Office Door Joanne said that she would like to have a lock on this door so that the Chamber can be used
when she is not there. (small meetings or groups) Dean said it may be able to be re-keyed.
Farmers Market ReDort Joanne reported that Barb is doing a great job at running the market and that we are
having better than average attendance by both the vendors and the public. Thanks to Barb Eminith for all you donated
time and efforts.
NEW BUSZNESS-
Laurel Mao Joanne stated that we are running short on these and that it is time to get working on them for this year as
it is a good fund ruiser for us.
Open Forum
Fox TV - The 3 minutes was used for the "Sale and the Farmers Market" as well as a short clip by Shawna on
"Laurel Alive"
Card Rack from Sedley will be coming soon.
Chamber Volunteers Time did not allow an involved discussion on what can be done to encourage
volunteers at the Chamber, but is something that should be taken seriously.

· Loo Cabin - Work on the Cabin will begin on Sunday Sept. 9th and will continue on Sept.
and 17~. Dean has the colors.

· Work Dav- Set date and time - for the Christmas Decorations - (perhaps paint day)

· Laurel Map - Do we want to try and do something a bit nicer? Outlook has corrections -
Amount raised last year was $6,800 minus expenses of about $536.00
