Meeting was called to order at 1900 by Chairman John Smith.
Members present were Roy Zahm,Bob Western, and Bill Brennan.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
Bills were presented and approved.
Craig Canfield reported that a"Cultural Study" of the "old hangar area",to determine if
the old hangars are culturaly significant and can be included on the National Historic
Register will be included on our grant request for the malntainence project. We are hoping
to get the grant within the next 6 weeks. He also gave a presentation on F.A.A. Airport
Compliance regulations. We have A.I.P.grant assurances effective for 20 years governing
the use of the Airport property and facilities.
Doug Poehls gave a presentation requesting that we designate the "old hangar area" a
historic area, grant 20 year leases.pave the taxiways,plant trees and grass,create a camping
area, ete presumably at the same rent fee as the present. There were 2 alternatives. He
wanted the Authority to create a joint committee with "old area"hangar own~l~ to~
negotiate implemation of his plan. After much discussion no action was 1~.;:
It was moved by Brennan, seconded by Western that we wait until the "Cultural
Study"was completed before more action in the "old area".Passed.
Moved by Western,seeonded by Zahm to have Bob Miller assist us in forming a position
of Airport manager. Passed.
We bought two doors for the equipment storage building.
Will Metz proposed opening a "powder coating"business for aircraft parts in his building
being vacated by R.M.C..
Meeting adjourned at 2000.
