Board Meeting Minutes
The Meeting was held on October 13th, 2016 at the Laurel Golf Club. In attendance were: Executive Board
Members: President- Holly Anderson,Treasurer- Molly Conrad and executive secretary- Marcia Hafner. Directors:
Donnie McVee, Mary Lou Bata!den, Bruce Larson, and Sandy Reese. Members: Billie Lehman, Kathleen Gilkily, LeAnn
Hanison and mad McGrail. Guest: Sharon Herman.
Holly called the meeting to order.

The financial report and bills were presented for payment.
Old BUSINESS
• Christmas Decoration Repair - Volunteers are needed to go over decorations and replace bulbs.
Volunteers were lined up for Sunday the 23m at 1:00 pm.
• Board Recruitment - The slate must be done by the November meeting and the new board is
voted in at the December meeting. Billie Lehman of Grounds to Gable Home Inspection has agreed
to take over the board position currently held by the Laurel Jaycees. Moved to accept- Mary Lou,
2n« — Molly. Position filled. Jim Mourich will be replacing Rob Lowe for MasterLube. We will still
need to replace the 4 directors whose term expires this year.
New BUSINESS
• New Members- Leann Harrison from Parks Real Estate was introduced.
• Ribbon Cuttings - Parks Real Estate would like theirs at their BAH, on Nov. 17'^".
• North School Bell - A communication was received concerning the North School bell in the rose
ganden' Marcia introduced the communication and read her response. Molly and Marcia had
searched the minutes and had found where the bell was presented, but not much else, so Marcia
had called several of the board members from that time. It was a long time ago and not much is
remembered. Donnie was going to search the school records. It was voted to go ahead and send
the response written and post on FaceBook. Moved-Mary Lou, 2n«- Billie, approved. We deferred
the decision to the Garden Club and the School District.
• Meetings at Chamber - We currently rotate and hold Chamber meetings at member restaurants.
Marcia presented that we have several eating establishments that do not have meeting areas. She
would like to use those restaurants, have them deliver to the Log Cabin, and have the Chamber
pay for those meals --- twice a year. Moved to approve-Molly, 2»u- Sandy. Approved.
• Sam's Club - Sam's Club has expressed a desire to join the Laurel Chamber. They will run a
promotion for Chamber businesses as a service to our members. Note: Through an email vote- the
directors unanimously voted to take advantage of the promotion and join Sam's Club.
OPEN FORUM
• Welcome to Laurel Signs- The Rotary is placing signs at the edges of town to Welcome visitors.
They have also voted to join the Chamber, although they haven't yet. Marcia mentioned that at
LURA there was some concern about where the signs were placed and not in the DOT right-of-way.
It was decided to sponsor the signs ($800) if they provide written permission from the Dept. of
Transportation, if needed. Moved- Molly, Z"u — Donnie, approved.

OLD BUSINESS
• Christmas Repair- Volunteers had trouble replacing the sockets of LED lights. We checked all
the new ornaments and marked them for Dennis to repair.
• Slate for new board - Read By-laws related to elections. Present nominations for directors and
new executive board.

• Scholarship Funds - $478

• New Hire Committee - Report
