Attending: Kurt Markegard, Iry Wilke, LuAnne Engh, Amy Pollock, Chuck Dickerson

LARC—
• They have their EIN and 501 (3)(c)
• $25,000
• Ready to do their feasibility study
Looking for city land—possibility may be with the new 90 Interchange&the state will
return the abandoned on-ramp to the city of Laurel
• Next meeting Nov. 14th
Lease Negotiations
• No updates on the Laurel Rifle Club Building— Sam Painter is out of town and he and
Heidi haven't finished this lease
• Same with the LRC building
• When they are ready we'll ask the LRC representatives to one of our meetings
Riverside Park
• Kurt shared a new publication of 12 million that Exxon is planning to use to repair the
rivers areas harmed by the spill. Laurel is listed as follows for 2.4 million:
1. Vault toilets
2. Develop a Master Plan and prioritize additional projects
3. Laurel Pond—dredge and improve habitat, develop handicapped access and
shoreline fishing opportunities
4. Kurt will contact Alicia Stickney(Exxon contact)to see if she will attend a park
meeting and explain more details
5. Lions members will be invited to attend so they can coordinate with their projects
Recreation Ideas
• Nothing new to report—but we still want to see more offered to youth outside the pool
Combining committees—Trees, Parks, Cemetary
• Chuck said the Tree Board should send a letter to council stating they are not interested in
combining if that is what they want. LuAnne will ask at the next meeting. No
councilman is on the Tree board currently
