Dear Mayor and City Council:
The Laurel City-County Planning Board at its regular meeting held on July 5, 2007
recommended by a vote of 5-0 that the Laurel City Council places a moratorium on all
Planning Issues, not including subdivision applications processed by the City of Billings,
until a City Planner is hired.
This decision was based on Laurel Municipal Code(s) 17.72.060(A) and 17.76.030(A)
that require applications be reviewed by the City Planner prior to being reviewed and
acted on by the Laurel City-County Planning Board.
The motion also requested that Doyletta Zweifei and Brit Romaln be refunded back the
money they paid for their applications that were put on hold. Zweifels zone change
application fee mount was $2000.00 and the Romain annexation fee amount was
$400.00.
