HomeMy WebLinkAboutTree Board Minutes 05.30.2007 TREE BOARD
MAY 30, 2007
DPW CONFERENCE ROOM
The Tree Board met on May 30a. Gay Easton reported that he had thanked the teachers and
children who participated in the Arbor Day activities and had given them a DVD of the occasion.
Parks where trees could be planted were discussed. These included an Autunm Blaze Maple at
Murray Park, Cottonless Cottonwoods and Willows on the southern border of Kiwanis Park, and
a lilac hedge to define the border of some of Russell Park.
It was suggested that we advertise a tree give-away along with Arbor Day next year. We have
excess trees at a nursery at the cemetery, and Gay Easton will check with the Conservation
District for this.
The Tree City signs given us by the state forester on Arbor Day will be displayed at the west
entrance on Old Highway 10, and on the south on Highway 212. It is hoped that the banner will
be carried in the 4~ of July parade.
Pat Hart and Gay Easton both agreed to serve another two year term on the board.
It was decided to make an inventory of the trees in Thompson Park, using a GPS system. We will
meet at 9:00 AM on June 4~ for this.
Respectfully Submitted,
Lois Markegard
