two nights but had to come home because of a very sick animal. The trainings she attended were
about Re-Envisioning Libraries and The Library of the Future. The State Library is trying to help
all of us look forward to what role we think our libraries will be playing in our communities in
the future.
Clair and Nancy attended the South Central Federation meeting on Saturday, September 17th in
Harlowton. Tracy Cook from the State Library offered training on defining the roles of Board
members and Directors in running the library. The next Federation meeting is Saturday, March
18, 2017 in Big Timber.

New Business
Nancy will be traveling to Livingston to help with their major rebarcoding project. They have
over 40,000 items in their collection that need new barcodes. The Montana Shared Catalog
members have been asked to help on September 20th and 21st if they can possibly take time away
from their own libraries.
Laurel is signing a contract to start accepting deliveries from, and sending deliveries with,
Critelli Couriers through the Montana Courier Alliance. We will receive/send shipments twice a

will save quite a bit on shipping.
There will be a Montana Shared Catalog membership meeting and training in Helena October 5
—6 2016; Federation Coordinator's meeting& State Library Commissioner's meeting in Helena
October 11-12, 2016; and a PLD/ASLD retreat in Chico Hot Springs Resort October 16-17,
2016.Nancy is planning on attending these meetings and trainings. Anyone interested is
welcome to attend also.
Dixie motioned the Board meeting be adjourned, Clair seconded the motion. Motion passed,
meeting adjourned at 7:01 pm.
Other
Bill asked if it would be possible to purchase a new paper cutter that is currently in use. The
paper cutter we are using is pretty old but the concern is that it has been repaired a couple times
already and can be a hazard to someone using it that is unfamiliar with its quirks.Nancy will
look for something that is safer for the general public to use with worry of injury. The suggestion
of purchasing a binding system was also brought up. Occasionally patrons, and staff, have need
of a system that will bind their papers together for a `finished look'. This will also be considered
for purchase.
