Dear City Council Members:
Thc Laurel Chamber of Commerce would like to request permission to sponsor the Culpepper & Merriweather
Circus on Friday, June 22,nd 2007 at the High School Practice We have received permission fi.om Josh
Middleton for the circus to be held on this land. The circus will set up the big top on the morning of June 22~a
and will hold two shows: the first at 5 p.m. and the last at 7 p.m. After the last show, the circus will load up
and leave the area.
The Chamber has agreed to purchase a Laurel Business license for the circus. We will need to provide the
circus with one running water source and it is our hope to gain pem,ission fi.om the City to use one of the water
hydrants in this area for this purpose. It is also our hope that someone fi.om the Fire Department will set this up
for the circus.
The circus uses about 1,200 gallons of water and the Chamber would be responsible for payment for this water.
The Chamber also has to provide a refuse container for trash and animal manure. Total capacity needs to be
five to six cubic yards. It is our hope that the City Public Works Department would provide and remove this
container.
