Dear City Council Members:
The Laurel Chamber of Commerce would like to request permission to hold the annual Grand
Parade on Wed. July 4, 2007, at NOON. The parade will begin line-up on 7t~ and 8th. We will
ask the Laurel Police Department to lead the parade. The parade mute will follow the same path
as in previous years In the event that we do have Gold Wings available for a separate parade,
we also ask permission for an 11:00 start. Their mute will be deterl~dned and submitted if it is to
OCclIr.
*We would also like to request permission to hold the annual Chief Joseph Run on July 4, 2007
at 7 a.m. Registration for this 8-mile run, 4-mile run, 2-mile run, 4-mile walk, and 2-mile walk
will be set up at Thomson Park at 6:00 a.m. The runners will begin at the park, travel north on
First Avenue, turn around at the different water stations, and end back at Thomson Park. Awards
will be given out at the park at 8 a.m. We will have people set up for traffic control and will put
the barricades up at the park upon completion of the race.
If mom information is needed, please do not hesitate to contact the Chamber office at 628-8105.
No response is needed if you are in agreement with these plans. If you are not in agreement,
please contact the office as soon es possible.
