HomeMy WebLinkAboutChamber of Commerce (19) Laurel Chamber of Commerce Board Meeting Minutes The Meeting was held on September 8, 2016 at Fowl Play. In attendance were: Executive Board Members: President- Holly Anderson,VP-Amanda Powell,Treasurer- Molly Conrad and executive secretary- Marcia Hafner. Directors: Donnie McVee, Brent Renier, Mary Lou Batalden,Ann Soares, and Sandy Reese. Members: Janice Lehman and Kathleen Gilluly. Holly called the meeting to order. The minutes were approved: moved to approve - Mary Lou, 2nd- Molly. The financial report was presented. Old BUSINESS • Board Recruitment- Several names were presented. • Hiring Committee - It was brought up that the board will be looking for a permanent part-time position; someone who could be trained and take over for Marcia when she retires. The executive board and any volunteers will be on that committee. Holly will chair it and would like to have interview questions, etc. before the new board takes over. New BUSINESS • Christmas repair date- The date set is October 23rd, at noon. Dennis Eaton can make that date and we get volunteers lined up at the next meeting. An email will be sent out reminding people of the date. • OPEN FORUM • Christmas to Remember would like to speak next month. • Community Awards - The Outlook brought up that they would like to do Community Awards at our annual meeting. There were some concerns about it being a member meeting and that we filled the venue. We will be going over decorations and replacing bulbs. • Board Recruitment- Slate must be done by November meeting, vote at Dec. meeting. Billie Lehman. NEW BUSINESS - • New Members - Parks Real Estate - 207 W. Main St. Leeann Harrison • Ribbon Cuttings - Parks Real Estate would like theirs at their BAH, Nov.17th. • North School Bell - Present communication received and our findings. • Meetings at Chamber - ?
