OTHERS PRESENT: Kelly Strecker Kurt Markegard
Public Input: None
Street Improvements:
Kurt stated that $200,000 has budgeted for crack sealing, chip sealing and pothole repair that will take
place this fall. The street repairs for next spring have not been identified yet. In the future, curb and gutter
should be put in from Washington to Wyoming Ave. Kurt said they are going to try and do a little street
work in each ward so the work can be spread throughout town.
Riverside Park:
Kurt stated that$60,000.00 has been budgeted for vault toilets at the park. The Park Board has been trying
to come up with a game plan for improvements to the park. Some suggestions are new camping spaces
and a new playground. Kurt stated that they are waiting for the toilets to be installed before the project
moves forward. Kurt said the Montana Department of Tourism can set up a park master plan for the City.
Once this is done, the City can apply for grants to help with the improvements.
Thomson Park Parking:
Kurt said the City will have to call for locates because a waterline runs through the parking lot. This will
need to be done before the signs can be placed. The school board has a copy of the agreement and they are
supposed to maintain the lot. Kurt stated that the City purchased one sign for the lot. Dan suggested that
there be two signs and has offered to pay for the other. Kurt suggested that he talk to the school board first
since the agreement is that the school maintains the lot.
Invitation for Septic Hauler:
Kurt handed out a list of local licensed septic haulers. There was a brief discussion on who was using the
station at the sewer plant. Bob Frank, Roto Rooter, and Cotter's Sewer Service are currently the only
haulers.
