Approval of minutes of October. Motion by Sillielou Lance,
second by Donna Kilpatrick. Carried 8--0.
Approval of Bills: Motion by Donna Kilpatrick, second by
Gerald Shay to approve $200 administrative services for
February. Carried 8--0.
Home Occupations
1) Cecil Miller at 805 E. 4th has applied to make fishing
lures out of his home. No customers coming to home. All
sales are done by his distributors. No toxic fumes as it is
silicone. Cal recommends approval subject to no traffic or
customers coming to the home. Motion by Don Gudgell, second
by Merrill Watkins to recommend approval of the home
occupation subject to no traffic/customers coming to the
home. Motion carried 9--0. (Ziggy Ziegler arrived at the
beginning of the home occupation)
2) Eugene & Patti Tuka, 215 E. 3rd Street have applied to
allow a full service travel agency in their home. This
service is done with computers and some customer traffic is ~ '
an*_icioated.
Cal recommends approval subject to no traffic/customers
coming to the home. Motion by Gerald Shay, second by Donna
Kilpatrick to recommend approval of the home occupation
subject to no traffic/customers coming to the home. Motion
carried 9--0.
3) Susan Matson, 913 7th Avenue has applied to allow a
business bookkeeping service out of her home. She will have
no clients coming to her home.
Cal recommends approval subject to no traffic/customers
coming to the home. Motion by Billielou Lance, second by
Donna Kilpatrick to recommend approval of the home
occupation subject to no traffic/customers coming to the
home. Motion carried 9--0.
4) Jerry Peter, 1126 4th Avenue has applied to allow a
sharpening service run out of his home. He anticipates an
occasional person dropping and picking up items. The
machine he uses makes no more noise than a hand held hair
dryer. It does not emit any toxic fumes.
Cal recommends approval subject to no traffic/customers
coming to the home. Motion by Miles Walton, seconded by
Billielou Lance to recommend approval of the home
occupation. Motion carried 9--0.
Laurel Baptist Church was present with a drawing indicated
the future access road, parking and structures. Cal
explained that he needed to see a landscaping plan from them
prior to the ground breaking in late April.
Cal spoke regarding some of the bills being considered in
the house and senate during the legislature session. He
feels that there are quite a few that will inhibit the city-
county control over.
The Thiel Road residents are moving forward in their setting
up of a zoning district. They have developed a set of
zoning rules for the district.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.

before it will be accepted for processing.

Home occupations are deemed to be site specific and owner specific. Thus, the use of a
portion of a dwelling for a home occupation will not permit a subsequent owner an
automatic home occupation designation.
PROCEDURE:
1. Complete this Home Occupation Request Form aad submit it to the clerk in the
City Engineer's Office seven (7) working days prior to a regulazly scheduled meeting of
the City-County Planning Board (which su uallv meets on the second Thursday of each
month).
2. The Planning Boazd will consider the request at their meeting. Attendance by the
applicant for home occupation or his representative is required at this meeting.
3. The Planning Board will make a recommendation to the City Council that the
request for home occupation be granted or denied.
4. The City Council, at its next regularly scheduled meeting, will consider the
Planning Boazd's recommendation regarding the home occupation and approve or deny
the request. The applicant or his representataive must also attend this City Council
meeting. If the Council approves the home occupation, the applicant must then go to the
Council's Business License Comuuttee for the actual business license to operate the home
occupatiod.
SKETCH:
In the space below, provide a sketch with basic dimensions showing the locations of your
planned business in your home in relation to other areas of the house. Include any storage
area the business may require:
