RE: Stormwater System PER
Dear Mayor Olson and Council Members,
Please find attached the final draft of the Stormwater PER for the City. Now that the
PER is finalized, the City has a couple options ff it wishes to pursue the construction of
the Preferred Alternative, a storm sewer system in the South Laurel Business District.
The contzact [or engineering services to compile the PER allows the City the option of
retaining Great West for the design and construction administration of any project
resulting from recommendations in the PER. The City could also lump the work into
its pending RFP for general engineering services. The desired scheduling of the
potential improvements would likely drive the decision, as the RFP process would
preclude any engineering firm from realistically completing design in time to bid and
construct the improvements before the September 1st opening date of Walmart.
In any event, it has been a pleasure working with the City, and we look forward to
working with Laurel well into the future.
