February 6, 2007
A Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana, was held in the Council
Chambers and called to order by Mayor Ken Olson at 6:15 p.m. on February 6, 2007.

Kate Hart
Gay Easton
Doug Poehls
Mark Mace
Chuck Dickerson
Norm Stamper
COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT:
None
OTHER STAFF PRESENT:
Sam Painter
Mary Embleton
Mark Richards
Mayor Olson asked if anyone wanted to address the council regarding community announcements or
any information regarding council business.
Jake Lambrecht, and his wife, Terry, attended the meeting. Jake stated that they are proposing a
subdivision on the end of 14th Street and Beartooth. They have a preliminary drawing showing
about fourteen lots, with the addition ora road and cul-de-sac, which they Would annex into the city.
Mayor Olson stated that no council action would be taken.
APPOINTMENTS TO FILL WARD 1 AND WARD 4 VACANCIES:
Mayor Olson asked the council president to distribute the ballots for the Ward 1 and Ward 4
vacancies. He instructed each council member to sign and complete the ballot, and the council
president collected the ballots and returned them to the mayor. Mayor Olson, with the witness of the
attorney, read each alderperson's name and the persons for whom their ballot was cast.
Alderwoman Hart and Aldermen Easton, Poehls, Mace, Dickerson, and Stamper voted for Emelie
Eaton (Ward 1) and Vonda Hotchkiss (Ward 4).
Mayor Olson stated that the Emelie Eaton (Ward 1) and Vonda Hotchkiss (Ward 4) were the
successful candidates. He thanked everyone who submitted their nan~e for their time and
consideration.
Mayor asked the two successful candidates to come forward.
SWEARING IN CEREMONY:
Mayor Olson performed the swearing in ceremony for Emelie Eaton, Ward 1, and Vonda Hotchkiss,
Ward 4, as alderwomen for the Laurel City Council.
Mayor Olson extended his thanks to Tom Sayre for putting his name in the hat and encouraged him
to be active in endeavors for the city.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the council at this time, the meeting was adjoumed at
