Mark Richards, City Planner Cheryll Lund, City Secretary Minutes of the December 7, 2006 meeting were approved as sent out. Mark Richards stated that he would like to have the secretary, Cheryll Lund, available to make comments and ask questions during the planning meetings. He feels that Cheryll's 19 years of working for the City Public Works Department and as Planning Secretary makes her a valuable asset of information. Canyon Creek Station Subdivision - preliminary, Plat - Continued from the December 7~ 2006 meeting Mark Richards passed out the plat and SIA with the additions and corrections that were requested fi:om Engineering, Inc. at the December 7, 2006 meeting. Mark talked with MDOT regarding traffic counts they have requested for the proposed McDonald's store to be located on Lot 2B-2. Mark has been in contact with the McDonald's Corporation and has passed along all of the information he has gotten to MDOTo Will Ralph, representing Engineering, Inc., asked the board for their support of this preliminary plat. Mark Richards entered the Findings of Fact for Canyon Creek Station Subdivision, Second Filing, into the record. Motion by Todd Linder, second by David Oberly, to recommend approval of the preliminary plat ~r Canyon Creek Station Subdivision Second Filing, with all of the changes put onto the plat and the SIA (Subdivision Improvements Agreement) to the Laurel City Council. Motion carried 7-0. Miscellaneous Board members expressed concern over how to keep uses in Light Industrial zones located next to Highway Commercial zones separated. With Laurel growing so fast due to the new Wal-Mart Super Center this issue is becoming a concern. There is also concern regarding the infltastmcture and safety on E. Railroad Street going east to the E. Laurel exit. With Wal-Mart being built it will be imperative to keep both vehicle traffic and foot traffic safe at the busy intersections. Also brought up were drainage issues for S.E. Fourth Street. Mark Richards stated that some of these issues can be addressed through the following of Laurel's Growth Management Platt He and Perry Pusher have been looking at the drainage issues for S.E. Fourth and will follow through on all engineering recommendations. Mark assured the board that all of the issues they are concerned about are being addressed. Public Input No public was present.
