COUNCIL CHAMBERS A Council Workshop was held in the Council Chambers and called to order by President Gay Easton at 6:30 p.m. on December 26, 2006. COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: x Dick Fritzler x Kate Hart _x_ Gay Easton Jennifer Johnson OT~F~RS PRESENT: Sam Painter Mary Embleton _x_ Doug Poehls Mark Mace Chuck Diekerson _x_ Norm Stamper Mark Richards P~nnino_ Board: · Review of the proposed changes to the subdivision rag, lmions Mark Richards stated the subdivision regulations will be presented for the council's review in the next month. The regulations, which must be adopted by October 1, 2007, hove already been approved by the City-County Planning Board. · Resolution- McLelland Quitclaim Deed The resolution was approved at a special council meeting just prior to this council workshop. Clerk/Treasurer: · Resolution - State and Federal Surplus Programs Mary Embleton stated that the resolution must be approved annually. The State of Montana needs the city's agreement end the list of authorized people authorized to purchase surplus items through the State. ~ resolution will be on the council agenda on January 2, 2006. Executive review: · Update - Thomae Lumber encroachment permit There was no public input. Public ]Gout (three-minute limit): Citizens may nddress the Council regarding any item of City business not on the agenda. The duration for an individual speaking under Public Input is limited to three minute~ While all comments are welcome, the Council will not take action on any item not on the agenda~ Council Workshop Minutes of December 26, 2006 Sam Painter stated that some minor issues still need to be resolved, and the encroachment permit will be presented at the council workshop on January 9t~. · Update - City ofLaurel's website Work is continuing on the city's website. · Arbor Day Proclamation Mayor Oison will make the Arbor Day Proclamation for the last Friday in April. Two trees remaining from the East First Street project will be planted on Arbor Day. · Council Appointments: Ward 1 and Ward 4 Advertisements will be placed in the newspaper for the two council vacancies. Review of draf~ council anenda for Januar~ 2~ 2007: · Public Hem-in§ - Intent to adopt official Schedule of Fees and Charges The public hea~ing will be held on January 2~d. Mary recently had a conversation with Dan McGee regarding the proposed legislation for increasing debt limitation for general obligation bonds. Mr. McGee agreed to assist and has reserved a drag bill spot for this issue. MaeNan EHingson will also assist with the proposed legislation.
