Old Business
Carpet was completed on time. The library needed to stay closed a couple extra days to allow
staff time to reorganize shelves, displays, etc. Patrons really like the new look and have
commented on how nice the library feels. They've also stated that the restrooms look and smell
better with the new flooring and paint.
Nancy attended the Montana Shared Catalog meeting. The costs for Laurel will be going down
for this year. Mike and Nancy spent the month of February compiling a list of patrons that hadn't
used the library in over 2 years and deleted their cards. This was a significant savings of about
$600 for the library.
New Business
Bonnie Priekszas passed away last year and named Laurel Public Library was one of her
beneficiaries. Paperwork was received from attorney Joel Bower informing the library that we
should be receiving about$10,000 from Bonnie's estate. Monies, when received, will be put into
the donation account for the Laurel Public Library under the City accounting measures.
The library will be closed Saturday,May 28th through Monday,May 30th for the Memorial Day
weekend. Staff members want to take vacation for that Saturday.
Nancy will be attending the Federation Coordinator's meeting in Helena on Tuesday,June 7,
2016 and the State Library Commissioner's Meeting on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 as a
