Members Present: Others Present: Doug Poehls Norm Stamper Rick Musson Dick Fritzler Chuck Dickerson Jan Faught No Public Input Dog Ordinance There was no new report on dog ordinances. Monte and Terri Cherry were sent an agenda for the meeting but were not in attendance. Doug said he would call and discuss with them if they had any new ideas or comments. Mutual Aid Norm Stamper reported that Sam Painter drafted a new Mutual Aid Agreement. It was presented to Darrell McGillen at the fire department for their review and approval. It will then be presented to the Billings Fire Department and their city attorney for approval. The same Mutual Aid Agreement could be used for the other fire districts, such as Park City, Molt, Duck Creek, etc. Norm stated the task force committee would contact Pat Kimmet at Cenex to work out a Mutual Aid Agreement with them. New Committee Members Chairman Doug Poehls said there were three positions open on the committee. Dick Fritzler advised the committee that he will be moving outside of his Ward and will no 'longer be a council member. He cannot represent the council on the committee but said he will continue as a member and fill one of the open positions. Doug was given several suggestions of people whom he will contact to see if they may be interested in serving on the committee. Ambulance Department Comments Jan Faught apologized for arriving late. She questioned whether the task force was continuing with the matter of additional space for the ambulance department. Dick Ffitzler stated the task force did do a written report. Jan said it was an important issue and needed to be revisited. They are overly crowded in the small space they occupy, not only for ambulance parking but also for office space. The office they now have doesn't provide enough room for her and an assistant. Also, at times there are ambulance attendants who are on call and spend many hours staying close to the office ready for quick call out response. She pointed out that a shower is an important item needed for attendants returning from a call in which they may have been exposed to biohazards. They are fortunate to have a washer and dryer for cleaning clothes. Jan said the department could use another sink. It would be used only for cleaning of items exposed to any dangerous substance. The sink they now have is used for that and for cleaning their food dishes, which is unsanitary. Doug said this would be an agenda item for the next meeting. Jan told the committee that there are 22 ambulance reserves and attendants. They have worked hard to train and have been licensed with the state for three out of five ALS endorsements. The department is licensed to have a medic on the ambulance, but these services are limited because the department doesn't have some of the equipment needed to provide for this or an ambulance that will support the new skills. It was discussed not to have a meeting in December because of the holidays. The next meeting will be January 22, 2007. Respectfully submitted, Neva Hall Secretary
