Board Meeting Minutes
The Meeting was held on July 14th, 2016 at KC's Palace. In attendance were: Executive Board
Members: President- Holly Anderson,VP-Amanda Powell,Treasurer- Molly Conrad and executive
secretary- Marcia Hainer and Chamber Assistant- Sally Waters. Directors: Donnie McVee, Mary Lou
Batalden,Annie Seaman, Bruce Larson, and Sandy Reese. Guest: Richard Klose
Holly called the meeting to order.
The minutes were approved: moved to approve- Molly, 2nd -Sandy.
The finandal report was approved and bills were presented for payment: moved to approve- Molly, 2"6 -
Annie.
Guest : Richard Klose came representing the American Legion Baseball group. He handed out a
list of businesses who have donated money and labor to help bring the light poles up to code and
ready for the upcoming NorthWest Regional Class "A" baseball tournament. They will have
several out of town teams here for the tournament, which will benefit our businesses. The Board
discussed what we could afford with our current budget and decided the Chamber was in a
position to help them. It was moved to donate $2,000.00 to help with the cost of the new light
pole. Moved to approve- Sandy, 2nd- Mary Lou. Passed.
Old BUSINESS
• July 4th- Marcia shared communications that she received. Several positive and some negative.
The negatives were mostly about people not following the rules in the parade. Will try to have a
community meeting for feedback next week.
• Thank you to all the volunteers-
• Painting - Front was almost done for the 4t. Completion date is supposed to be next week.
New BUSINESS
• Lunch &Learn - Marcia has been contacted by a person who would like to do a lunch & Learn
about social media marketing, directory listings and such. They will send in a proposal. The board
was interested in the proposal.
• Garden Club-Called and requested that the Chamber go in with them on a plaque for the bell.
No specifics yet. Marcia has asked for a write up of what they would like on the plaque.
• Board membership-Start recruiting members for possible board positions. We will have 4
positions opening up this year.
• Contact sheets - Marcia handed out new contact sheets. Her cell has changed.
OPEN FORUM
• LURA- Marcia - LURA will receive a final report on the pigeon problem from the Flock Hawking.The
initial trial period that LURA paid for is ending. Businesses will have to maintain, but LURA is
considering a cost share program. Several businesses have been contacted who have the pigeons.
