Laurel Chamber of Commerce will Celebrate its 100' Birthday in 2007 -
Committee Becky, Jerry, Dawn, Diane (Pure Wireless-volunteered by Dawn), Jeanne and Jeanne Stabeifeldt,
and some Community Volunteers.
· Membership Fees Committee -- Jeanne has info coming from Miles City, Lewistown and Livingston,
Dee Dee, Shelley, Bob, Perry, Coral and Jeanne will set a date to meet.
New Business
· Player Piano - Jeanne has a call into the movers for a date to move.
Christmas Map - Do we still want to use Merchant Bucl~ as prize money? Joarme has contacted the Outlook for a
price on printing 2,500 maps - Cost will be $300 - Project is in process.
Christmas Decorations Report-- Shelley
· Nominatin__o Committee- DccDee, Becky, Shelly, CJ, and Jcl'y, -- Set date to meet - Jeanne has sent out the letter to
members.
· Budget Committee- - Dee Dee, Bob O'Dca, Jim Taylor, and Jeanne - Set date to meet
· Policy Review-Executive Board is suggested to be in charge of this. Includes replacing a board member in order
finish a ~m.

Board Meeting Minutes
Thursday, October 26t~, 2006
The Laurel Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors met on Thursday, Oct 26th, 2006 at DJ's from 12:00-1:00 p.m. In
attendance were: VP CJ Dalfle, Co-Vice President Jerry Bauck, Directors: Shelley Townsend, Glenda Seabrook, Barb
McLeod, Traey DuFresneo Jim Taylor, Becky Dickerson, Dawn Harmon, and Members: Coral Creek,
Dee Dee could not be present and CJ opened the meeting with a moment of silence.
Financial report was given and Joanne included the deposits and checks written since the last reconciliation statement.
Glenda gave an explanation of the amount due to her for an IRS report 990 that was due back in May.
Checks were presented and Jerry made a motion to approve payments, Tmcy seconded the motion, all approved.
The minutes were presented
Barb made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Jim all approved
OLD BUSINESS:
Annual Meeting all seemed pleased with the turnout and comments were all positive Total Profit was reported at
$448.00
The web-site committee - Shelly had previously cmailed the site to Joaune who emailed it to the other board members
for review. All who checked it out liked it a lot. Joanne has to get additional information to Greg to complete the job.
Shelly says it will be another 2 weeks to get it done and up and running.
The Laurel Map Glenda moved to approve the final proof with a second t~om Shelley. It is approved and will go
to the Outlook to be printed.
Boxcar I~ro|eet continues. Barb and Shelley went to look over the amount of flooring we will need to lay down, it will
take about 12 sheets. Shelly will coil Thomae's in regards to that. Joanne will call Perry and ask when he can paint the
inside of the car so that we can plan to get the floor down after that date but asap. Disscnssion concerning when to move
into the boxcar and Barb suggested that we wait until we move everything out and then when we take down we will put it
into thc boxcar. All agreed to that. Joanne will call Mark at MRL and see if they can clean up around that area so that we
can drive to the car and also if they are opposed with us getting a load of gravel brought in. Joanne will also talk to Ken
Miller about getting a cord into his building for lighting purposes. Jerry will donate a coupe of shop lights if we need
them or Barb suggested drop lights. Shelly will get the storage key form Bob so that they can look at the hooks and
hangers that are there now to see if they are reusable. We will also need to purchase a good lock and a chain for the car.
The meeting for repairs is set for Nov 4z at 8:00 am for breakfast at the Owl and work will begin at 9:00 at Westbrook
Storage. Joaune will contact Renee to see if the boy scouts are available that day.
Chamber Birthday Celebration Committee was set - those on the committee are: Becky, Jerry, Dawn, Diane (Pure
Wireless-volunteered by Dawn), Joanne and Jeanne Stahelfeldt. A date will be set to meet in Dec.
The Membership Fees Joanne is still continuing to gather information and a committee will be set at thc next meeting
Joanne did share with the board that she has found an list of'fees form 1998 and how the fees have not gone up much
since that time.
Circus Location - has been tabled until the next meeting when there is more information available
NEW BUSINESS:
Player Piano Joaune and her husband have offered to share with all an antique player piano and have it moved to the
Chamber, however the Chamber will be responsible for the cost ($175.00) of moving. Shelly asked if we could afford it
and Joanne mentioned that we have an income fi.om the Museum that is due and we could take the funds from that
account. Jim made a motion to approve the Piano with a second fi.om Shelley. All approved.
Christmas Map $oanne will start working on that next week- There have been comments about the Merchant Bucks
being removed as prizes and the possibility of using, cash, savings bonds or gif~ certificates form members. Jeanne ask
why there are only 20 spots on the map and others say that there can be more. Jeanne will check with Milt and get his
feedback and input. Barb reported that once again CHS will pay for the printing of the maps and that the invoice will go
direct to CHS fi.om the Outlook.
Thank You's A Thank You to Rod at Ben Franklin for donating matting to go behind the signs that Jeanne Stabelfeldt
made for the card racks. Also a Thank You to the family of Russ Storey who donated a large number of Christmas lights
and bulbs.
Senator Burns Idek offBus Tour seemed to be a great success with an estimated 60 to 70 people in the Chamber
Building. The Chamber has been thanked by all involved for hosting the event.
New Members Joanna reported 4 new members -- City Brew - G-reg O'Donnell fi.om Yellowstone Web Design -
Margret Puckett from Coldwell Banker - Deanna Rubin with Mary Kay Products.
Committees Needed -
Nomlnstln~ committee_- DeeDee, Becky, Shelly, C J, and Jerry,
Budget committee - Bob O'Dea, Jim Taylor, Dee Dee and Jeanne
will meet after the letter is sent out to the membership and replies are gathered.
(Suggestions so far are: Rene Studiner, Perry Asher, Becky Dickerson, Shawna Gradwohl)
Committee for Polley Review was not set and will be tabled until the next meeting. --CJ suggested that this be done by
the Executive Board.
Other Joanne read a Thank You note received by Girl Scout Troop 209 for allowing them to be a part of the Farmers
Market.
Guest Jerry brought a guest who wanted to speak to the board for a few minutes. Staff Sergeant Raymon Craig and his
wife recently moved to Laurel. He explained that he will be the new recruiting officer for the Laurel area. He is located
at the Station in Billings.
CJ thanked him for his presentation and the meeting was adjourned.
