COUNCIL CHAMBERS MEMBERS PRESENT: Richard Herr Chuck Dickerson Emelie Eaton Dan Koch Mary Carter OTHERS PRESENT: Kelly Strecker Kurt Markegard Public Input: None Handicapped parking at Thomson Park(Dan Koch): Dan had several questions and concerns for Kurt as far as the handicapped parking at the sports complex. Dan would like to see parking spaces painted and more signage indicating the lot is only for handicapped parking. Kurt stated that there are ADA specifications that need to be followed and the lot needs to be located closest to the entrance to the facility. The school built the lot with the understanding that the sports complex and the city could use it. The school purchased the 17 signs that are located in the lot to indicate the handicap parking. Chuck Dickerson made a motion to have this discussion about the parking lot to be turned over to the Chief of Police for signs and painting. Marvin Carter seconded the motion. All in favor 5. Opposed 0. Where did the paint go on the striping on SE 4th Street? Kurt said that he drove down SE 4t Street and all painting was done on the street and the crosswalks. There was a brief discussion about the crosswalks and parking on the street. Kurt stated that he has noticed that the crosswalks in place have slowed traffic down. Replacement of waterline on 1st Avenue between Mountain View and 12th Street. Kurt stated that he was waiting for the management budget to pass before he could begin the project. He received a quote for a cut in valve in the amount of$7900.000 from Curb Box Specialties. This procedure will be done with a small service agreement. Kurt said that he will go out for bid on replacing the line in August with construction to start in September. He is hoping to have the paving done no later than October. Other: Septic Haul Station is up and running. Water Intake $8.2 million with 75% of cost covered by FEMA.
