Board Meeting Minutes
The Meeting was held on.lune 16th, 2016 at Sid's. In attendance were: Executive Board Members:
President- Holly Anderson,VP-Amanda Powell,Treasurer- Molly Conrad and executive secretary- Marcia
Hafner and chamber assistant-Sally Waters. Directors: Mary Lou Batalden,Ann Soares, Cindy Drake, and
Sandy Reese. Members: Jay Thompson.
Holly called the meeting to order.
The minutes were approved: moved to approve-Sandy, 2nd -Amanda.
The financial report was approved and bills were presented for payment: moved to approve- Mary Lou, 2"d
- Molly.
Old BUSINESS
• July 4th - Marcia reported all permits turned in. Found cleanup group and water group. Run
shirts ordered. Food vendors are full (Cutting off at 20.)The volunteer sheet was passed around.
• Parade Grand Marshall - Matt Wheeler came in and suggested Margaret Renner. She is 102
and still lives in her own house. Guy Rollison has a convertible and has volunteered to drive her.
There were some concerns about the heat, etc. Moved to approve- Molly, 2nd — Cindy.
Margaret was approved.
• Front sign- Received matching fund grant for sign from LURA. Funds have been deposited.
New BUSINESS
• Spotlight on Business - Always looking for new.
• Painting - After looking at the siding, it was decided that some of it had dry rot and will
need to be replaced. We have collected enough to cover it. The painting will start ASAP.
We would like it done before the 4th
OPEN FORUM
• LURA - Marcia reported on what has been done about the pigeon problem. They have
trapped 92 in the time given and have noticed some areas of roosting.
Marcia also discussed the Dodger request to LURA and it was felt that the chamber would
like to hear their proposal and maybe we could help. There will be the big tournament in
Laurel this year that will bring in a lot of business to Laurel.

OLD BUSINESS
• July 4th -Share communications. Will try to have a community meeting for feedback next week.
• Thank you to all the volunteers- BBQ
• Painting - Front was almost done for the 4th. Completion date?
NEW BUSINESS -
• Lunch & Learn - Marcia has been contacted by a person who would like to do a lunch & Learn
about social media marketing, directory listings and such. They will send in a proposal.
• Garden Club-Called and requested that the Chamber go in with them on a plaque for the bell. No
specifics yet.
• Board membership-Start recruiting members for possible board positions.
• New phone number- Hand out new contact sheet.

OPEN FORUM -
• LURA- Marda -Will receive a final report on the pigeon problem. Businesses will have to maintain,
but considering a cost share for a while.
