HomeMy WebLinkAboutLaurel Urban Renewal Agency Minutes 06.20.2016 MINUTES Laurel Urban Renewal Agency (LURA) June 20th, 2016, Laurel Public Library meeting room Meeting was called to order by Judy Goldsby. Roll call/Attendance: Quorum of voting members present: Mardie Spalinger, Dean Rankin and Daniel Kline. Advisory board members: Janice Lehman and Steve Solberg. City Staff: Noel Eaton. Chamber of Commerce: Marcia Hafner. Big Sky EDA: Katy Easton. Flock Hawking LLC: Dan and Brandi Sieminski. Sharon and Melissa Fox. Introductions: Sharon and Melissa Fox. Approval of Minutes from Previous Meeting: Dean made the motion and Mardie seconded. Old Business: a. A copy of the LURA TIF District Rules and Regulations was passed out to the voting members. b. The City Attorney informed LURA that in order for LURA to pay for any Dodger light poles, the city would need to take back ownership of all the light poles. Mardie made the motion to not fund the poles and Dean seconded it. Marcia from the Chamber thought that they could donate funds. c. Flock Hawking reported the demise of 92 pigeons in the first two weeks using six traps. d. Shirley was absent so the SE 4th Light pole vote will be tabled until the July 11th meeting. New Business: a. The Technical Assistance Grant for Rimrock Chevrolet needs more information on the paperwork. b. Facade Grant for the Chiropractic Plus sign was approved by Daniel and seconded by Mardie. Reports: City Administration: The water intake construction will begin in July. City Planner: Jerry is no longer a candidate for the LURA board. City Treasurer: None. Big Sky EDA: The Coal board voted that Laurel was not affected by the train traffic so no money would be awarded to them. Public Comment on Non Agenda Topics: Sharon Fox asked if LURA could come up with ideas of what she could do with the property she owns on the east end of Laurel. Putting the new pool/recreational building there was tossed out. Next Meeting: July 11th, 2016 at the Library. Adjournment: Daniel made the motion and Judy seconded.
