Clair motioned to approve the minutes, Bill seconded the motion. Motion passed. Correspondence The Laurel Federated Woman's Club donated $20 to the library. Circulation Report—compared to same time period last year... Traffic:up 1.96%; circulation: all items circulated totaled 3,257 (including 251 eBooks), book circulation was up 18.27%, media circulation was up 20.76%, eBook checkouts for this month was 9.01%of total book circulation; computers: internet use was down 14.31%, children's use was even, wi-fi use down 37.04%; patron cards: city residents made up 61.19% of registered users for February, registered county patrons was at 32.29% and out-of-county patrons 6.5% of users. There were 38 tech assists in February. Old Business Dixie and Nancy completed the library budget with a few changes added. A$2 per hour increase in wages for the custodian was budgeted along with the funds to join the Montana Courier Alliance through the State Library. The amount requested for postage will be decreased if Courier is joined in July. River Ridge submitted a quote to complete the work on the flower boxes surrounding the three Honey Locust trees on the south side of the library. The amount to clean up existing vegetation, line boxes with Landmaster fabric,install inner retaining walls, and fill with amended top soil is projected to be $2,955.00. Bill motioned that the Foundation be asked to pay for this improvement, Dixie seconded the motion,passed with all agreeing. There will be some upcoming vacations in March—Geralyn has 26+hours she is required to use or she will lose them. She will be gone March 14-17, 2016. Nancy will be on limited vacation the week of March 21'(working some part-days as needed to complete invoices and such). New Business The annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Laurel Federated Women's Club will be held Wednesday, March 23`d at 1:00 pm in the library. This year the Club will be sharing a story before the egg hunt rather than a play. The spring Federation meeting will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016 in Roundup at the Roundup Community-School Library. The meeting starts at 10:00 am and ends around 3:00pm. Lunch is being provided by the Friends of the Roundup Community-School Library. Nancy and Clair will be attending the meeting as Federation representatives but it is open to everyone. Nancy received carpet replacement quotes from 3 companies: KC Interiors, Pierce Flooring, and Fischer Commercial Flooring. Board members discussed each of the quotes concerning product types, costs, and availability. Clair motioned that Fischer Commercial Flooring Estimate $624 be accepted as replacement option,Dixie seconded the motion,passed with all in favor. Montana Library Association annual conference is being held in Missoula this year, April 6—9, 2016. Nancy is planning on attending the full conference. She will give a brief report on the conference at the next Board meeting. The Excellent Library Service Award(ELSA) will be given out at the MLA conference.Nancy has applied for the award on behalf of the Laurel Public Library. If successful, she will bring back the award from Missoula.
