ITEMS DISCUSSED:
Role of the safety committee: The role of the safety committee was discussed and the role will
be that any safety concerns will be brought up at the safety committee meeting and discussed.Those
Items will then be forwarded on to the Mayor.
MSDS Sheets: Each representative from their respective departments was asked to get
together any information on their new chemicals in their buildings and to bring a list at the next
meeting. This was done so that we can get our MSDS Sheets up to date.
Job Hazard Assessments: Chris informed everyone that he will be coming around in the near
future to talk with everyone to get job hazard assessments on every position in the City.
Safety Meetings: Chris informed everyone that he would like to conduct safety meetings every
month at least for a while until the program gets off and running.
Exhaust fumes in the ambulance bay: Michelle Steffans brought up that the fumes from the
ambulance bay are making her dispatchers have headaches. Chris Rosenberg informed Michelle that he
would discuss this issue with mayor and he would get back to her.
Gate at the shoo yards: Michelle Steffans mentioned that some of the police officers wanted
her to bring up that the gate at the shop is hard to get open and closed. Chris Rosenberg will discuss this
with the Mayor and Kurt Markegard.
First Aid Kits and Clean Up Kits: Chris brought up that we need to look into getting First Aid Kits
in the buildings and Michelle Steffans mentioned that it would be nice to get some clean up kits as well.
Chris Rosenberg will bring this item up with the Mayor.
Budgets: Brent Peters wanted to know how all of the safety stuff is going to be paid for. He
wanted to know if there will be a safety budget or will it come out of the department's budget for where
the safety items were for. Chris Informed Brent that he will have to discuss this matter with the Mayor
and Shirley.
Chris thanked everyone for attending the meeting and bringing up their safety concerns. Chris
informed everyone that he will email everyone as to when the next Safety Committee meeting will be
held.
