November 21, 1978
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana, was
held in %he council chambers and called to order by Mayor Larry D. Merman, at 7:00
o'clock, P~M., on Tuesday, November 21, 1978.

Minutes of the regular meeting of November 8th approved as presented.
CORRESPOND~CE:
Thank you note was read from Mary Whitfield.
Recommendation from the City County Planning Board to rename 19th Street
to GOLF COURSE ROAD. Referred to the Street and Alley Committee.
Request to amend Block 1, Hageman Subdivision for utility easement. Re-
ferred to the Street and Alley Comittee.
Letter from M.K~M. regarding Innovative Technology. Copy of letter attached.
The City must also apply to E.Pg. for a grant increase for Project No.
C 300235-02.
Motion by ~lderman Ehrlick: That the Mayor be given authority to apply
for an additional grant increase for Project No. C 300235-02 and also
apply for "Innovative Technology" for the air drive RBC system. Seconded
by Alderman Kilpatrick. Carried.
Letter from Herman Hauck with a cOpy of the revised Subdivision Improvement
Agreement and Waiver reflecting the additions as per council action on Willow Creek
Subdivision. Referred to the City Attorney.
LEON HOWE - S.I.D. NO. 100 - MOGAN SUBDI¥ISION:
Petition for Creation of S.I~D. No. 100 located in Block 1 and 2, Mogan
Subdivision preseated before the council.
Motion by ~ldermauMeyers: That S.I~D. No. 100 be tabled until the next
regular council meeting. ~econded by Alderman Kilpatrick. Carried.
CC~PON~IT STRUOTu~ES - APPLICATION FOR ANNEXATION C/S ~l~:
City County Planning Board recommends approval of the annexation of C/S ~941
as industrial zone subject to their giving the necessary easement for Shannon Road
and Bernhardt Road.
RESOLUTION NO . 1713
GIVING NOTICE OF INTENT TO ANNEX C/S # 941 AS INDUSTRIAL ZONE.
Motion by Alderman Ehrlick: To accept the recommendation of the planning
board and that Resolution No. 1713 be passed and notice published in the
Laurel Outlook. Seconded by Alderman Meyers. Carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 6~ - MDU FRANCHISE:
ORDINANCE NO. 653
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO MDU COMPANY~ A CORPORATION, ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, TEE
FRANCHISE AND R~BRT TO CONSTRUCT, MAINTAIN AND O~ATE W/THIN AND UPON, IN AND UND~
THE STREETS, ALLEYS AND PusLIc GROUNDS OF TBE CITY OF LAUREL, MONTANA.
Motion by Alderman Etlpatrick: That Ordinance No. 653 be passed and adOpted.
Seconded by Alderman Ehrlick. Upon taking roll call vote, all alderman
present voted "A~e ". Motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 6~4 - ~NGINE~S DUTIES:
Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
1977. (Relating to the duties of the City E~giueer).
Motion by Alderman Me, ers: That Ordinance No. 654 be passed and adopted.
Seconded by Alderman Carter. Upon taking roll c~13 vote, Alderman Ehrlick,
Burns, Meyers, Carter, Massey and Metzger voted 'Yes", and Alderman Kilpatrick
voted '~o". Motion carried.
DON MEI~S - PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMITTEE MEET~IG:
Motion by Alderman Meyers: That the Public Utilities Committee meeting
minutes dated November 2Oth b~ entered into the official record. Seconded
by Alderman Metzger. Carried.
DON MEYERS - CHRISTMAS PARTY:
Alderman Meyers suggested a Christmas Party for ~ll City employees and their
spouses the Friday night before Christmas.
Motim~ by Alderman Kilpatrick: That the City have a Christmas Party for
all City employees and their spouses Friday, December 22nd at 4:00 P~M.
at Riverside Hall. Seconded by Alderman Carter. Carried.
City Employees to be notified on their November p~ycheck.
BOB BURNS - EM~ENCY S~0W REMOVAL:
Motion by Alderman Burns: To transfer the money from the insect control
fu~ to Emergency Snow Removal. Seconded by Alderman Meyers. Carried.
There being no further business to come before the council at this time,
the meeting was adjourned.
