Laurel Urban Renewal Agency (LURA)
February 22nd 2016, Laurel Public Library meeting room
Meeting was called to order by Dean Rankin. Roll call/Attendance: Quorum of
voting members present: Mardie Spalinger. Greg Nelson and Dan Klein.
Advisory board members: Kent Harris, Janice Lehman and Linda Frickel. City
Council: Rick Herr. City Staff: Noel Eaton. Chamber of Commerce: Marcia
Hafner. Big Sky EDA: Diane Lehm. Beartooth RC & D: Sue Taylor. Jerry
Pavelec from The Fowl Play and Brent Renier from Altana CU.
Introductions: KC from the Palace.
Approval of Minutes from Previous Meeting: Greg made the motion and
Linda seconded.
Old Business: KC's Facade application for new awnings was approved by the
City Council.
New Business: KC's Facade Application for painted windows. Greg made the
motion and Mardie seconded.
Updates to the Large Grant Request Application - Businesses
must be open, a LURA meeting before receiving all funds and
be completed in one year.
Large Grant Committee - At least (5) people. Kent Harris,
Mardie Spalinger, Linda Frickel and Janice Lehman. Still need
one more volunteer.
Reports: City Administration: None.
City Planner: Large Grant Application dates - (2) Newspaper ads
will be in the Outlook. Raise from $75K to $100K
twice a year.
City Treasurer: None
Big Sky EDA: County Commission meeting on March 15th,
regarding the Community Development Block Grants
Public Comment on Non Agenda Topics: Light Pole presentation for the
Dodger Regional Tournament.
Study of the Round About's being
moved up.
Next meeting: March 21st, 2016
