Minutes
January 2016 minutes were presented and read. Clair motioned to approve the minutes,Bill
seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Correspondence
Mike Dewey donated $100 to the library for the annual subscription to The Wall Street Journal.
Circulation Report—compared to same time period last year...
Traffic: up 4.56%; circulation: all items circulated totaled 2,976 (including 235 eBooks),book
circulation was down 4.81%, media circulation was up 28.96%, eBook checkouts for this month
was 9.27%of total book circulation; computers: internet use was down 17.42%, children's use
was up 26.1%, wi-fi use down 31.9%; patron cards: city residents made up 57.5%of registered
users for January, registered county patrons was at 34.29%and out-of-county patrons 8.2%of
users. There were 50 tech assists in January.
Old Business
Library patrons have reported less conflict with the guitar students since Mr. Engel was asked to
talk to them about their behavior and language around other people. The guitar students (mostly
adults) that have had conflicts with regular library patrons will continue to be monitored for
proper behavior and attitudes while at the library.
No other old business at this time.
New Business
There will be a book signing at the library on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 7:00 pm. Author
Dave Grimland will be present to read from his book Journey To Ithaka: Memoirs of an
American Diplomat. Signed copies will be available for purchase from the author and light
refreshments will be served.
The budgets have been sent out to each department head.Nancy asked that one of the Board
members help with the budget this year. Rose Marie stated she would be available on Tuesday,
February 16`h in the afternoon to help update the budget for this year. There is some changes
being considered by the library for postage handling and becoming a partner library.
Library staff will be taking some mandatory time off in March. Geralyn has too much
accumulated time that she needs to use or she will forfeit it(26 hours). She will be taking the
second week in March off for vacation. Mike, Chris and Fred all have personal days that need to
be used by the end of May.

May 5th& 6th-MSC meeting in Helena
