HomeMy WebLinkAboutLaurel Chamber of Commerce (38) Laurel Chamber of Commerce Board Meeting Minutes The Meeting was held on January 14th, 2016 at the Laurel Golf Club. In attendance were: Executive Board Members: President- Holly Anderson,VP-Amanda Powell,Treasurer- Molly Conrad and executive secretary- Marcia Hafner. Directors: Zada Stamper for Donnie McVee, Brent Renier, Mary Lou Batalden, Bruce Larson, and Sandy Reese. Members: Penny Korte. Holly called the meeting to order. The minutes were approved: moved to approve- Molly, 2"d -Zada. The finandal report was approved and bills were presented for payment. Old BUSINESS • New Board Members - Binders were handed out, but we did not have enough. Committees were handed out and new board member agreements. We discussed the signature cards at the bank and the new executive board will make sure they have signed them. • Holiday Open House - The Open House was a success. We had lots of people and made some good contacts. • Annual Meeting - Donations are coming into the Chamber. Volunteers were lined up to help haul and to help at the meeting. COR will again let us use their projector and the Laurel Schools will let us use a screen. New BUSINESS • New Members-KC's Palace Bar & Lanes - KC Henry owner, High Plains Brewing - Levi & David BeQuette owners. • Spotlight on Business - Always looking for new. We received one for Redneck Pizza. • By Laws - The revised by-laws were handed out. It was decided to give everyone a month to look over them and then the board would vote. • Laurel Revitalization- Bills are coming in and not being paid. The Chamber has already taken on the insurance. The lease is in our name and requires the insurance. Marcia checked on the electricity and that is also on our account. It was decided to call a meeting with the Laurel Revitalization Group to get this worked out. • Bike to Build - Marcia presented the information. It was decided that the Chamber would give to the project, but not monetary support. Some worried that the Chamber would establish a precedent. • Ribbon Cutting - High Plains would like a ribbon cutting next Monday at 5:00. OPEN FORUM • Biz to Biz - Open to businesses. There is an application that must be filled out and a fee. Financial Report - Yellowstone Checking - $ 43,343.67 Altana CD $ 8,003.45 Altana Saving $ 747.81 Christmas Repair Fund $ 2,562.68 TOTAL $ 54,657.61 Bills to be presented for payment: - done to date OLD BUSINESS • New Board Members- Finish handing out binders to members who were not present. • Annual Meeting - Marcia reported on finances.
