Herman, at 7:00 o'clock, P.M., on Tuesday, April 18, 1978. ROLL CALL: Council members present: Albert Ehrlick Ronald Massey Susan Carter Harold Burns Donald Meyers Council members absent: Ervin Metzger Charles Rodgers Thomas Kilpatrick I.NVOCAT I ON: Invocation given by the Reverend Crain. Minutes: Minutes of the last regular meeting of 4-18-78 approved as presented. MAYOR'S COMMENTS: Mayor announced that the Reverend Ferguson was in the Deaconess Hospital, and directed the City Clerk to send flowers from the Mayor and Council. BIDS: Liquid As~hatt~ Sand & Gravel and Stone Chi~s. Cenex Refinery - - $15,932.50 - This being the only bid received. William Krug Sand & Gravel - - $22,500.00 - Check in the amount of $2,250.00 attached. Plenty Coups Sand & Gravel - - $27,500.00 - Check in the amount of $2,750.00 attached. Motion by Alderman Burns: To accept the bid of Cenex for the Oil and the bid of William Krug for the other materials. Seconded by Alderman Ehrlick. Carried. RESOLUTION OF CORPJECTION: RESOLUTION NO. 1677 BEING A RESOLUTION CORRECTING THE PROPERTY DESCRIPTION IN RESOLUTION NO. 1661 Motion by Alderm~n Massey: To approve Resolution No. 1677. Seconded by Alderman Burns. Carried. BIDS: SALE OF FIRE DEPARTMENT HOUSE: There being one bid received from LaDall J. Mooso on the Fireman's House at 208 W. 2nd Street, Alderman Massey suggested turning this matter back to committee. Motion by Alderman Ehrlick: To accept the single bid of LaDall Mooso who offered $50.00. Seconded by Alderman Massey. House to be moved within sixty days. Carried. BID ON STREET SWEEPER: One Bid received from Hall-Perry Machinery. The Mayor referred this matter to the Finance Committee and the Street and Alley Committee. MURR ISAACS: Report on Uniform Sign Code. Report on getting an S.I.D. started to put sidewalk on the North side of Main Street West to Meadowlark. Isaacs to determine the property owners in the area and report back to the next council meeting. Minutes of the City Council of Laurel ORDINANCE NO. 651 BEING AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE AND DEVELOPMENT OF BOULEVARDS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LAUREL. Motion by Alderman Ehrlick: That Ordinance No. 651 be passed and adopted. Seconded by Alderman Meyers. Carried. BOB BURNS - POLICE COMMITTEE: Alderman Burns suggested creating a resolution to establish an auxiliary reserve for the Police Force. The Mayor referred this matter to the City Attorney. MAYOR'S COM/~qTS: Mayor asked Ken Beven to report on the Water Plant project. Beven also requested permission to use some of the Water Plant's budgeted funds for roof repair. There was no objection. Mayor announced that there had been five persons who had expressed interest in being appointed to the Library Board to fill the vacancy created by Mrs. Edna Chapman. Persons were Ann Morrow, Evelyn Crow, Olliemay Gas, Sheila Sanders and Jean Williams. The Mayor will make his appointment at a later date.
