April 11, 1978
A Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana,
was held in the Council Chambers, and called to order by Mayor Larr~ D. Herman,
at 7:00 o'clock, P.M., on Tuesday, April 11, 1978.
ROLL CALL:
Council members present:
Albert Ehrlick
Donald Meyers
Ervin Metzger
Charles Rodgers
Thomas Kilpatrick
Ronald Massey
Susan Carter
Harold Burns
Council members absent: None
PURPOSE OF MEETING:
Alderman Carter reported a proposed Senier Citizen's Center.
City of Laurel asked to provide the land for this project.
Other pledges reported as follows:
A.B. Construction
Schessler Concrete
Doug Schwindt
Clarence Sonstegaard
Ace Electric
Ramsey Lumber
Boise Cascade
Cindan Heating & Cooling
Western Steel
Prill Construction
Harold Bernhardt Excavating
Montana Power Co.
Montana-Dakota Utilities
These people will provide materials as needed at cost, and free labor.
City land considered is Eighth Avenue and South Fourth Street. Land
could be either donated or a 99 year lease considered. City Attorney to study
the problem as to which would be the best for all concerned. Senior Citizens
are a non-profit organization.
Motion by Alderman Metz~er: That the City of Laurel make available the
land, and waive all building permits, inspection fees, etcetera, except
any Special Improvement Districts that might occur in the future.
Seconded by Alderman Ehrlick. Carried.
There being no further business to come before the council at this
eession, the meeting was adjourned.
