COUNCIL CHAMBERS PRESENT: Perry Asher Sam Painter Rick Musson Steve Klotz Mary Embleton Jan Faught Scott Wilm Cal Cumin Perry led the meeting. Council Workshop Al~enda - May 30~ 2006 Police Department * Rick will be at the meeting, and perhaps the new officer * Perry stated that Ken informed him that there were "unmentionables" found in out-of-the- way places in the new playground o Looking into installing lighting o Discussed possibility ofiustalling security cameras around city facilities Plannine Board o Conditional use - Cal stated that public hearing has been held Fire Department o Scott stated the Airport Authority contract hA.~ been received, but still waiting for LUFSA and District #7 Public Works Demrtment o Steve reported that agreamant with YMCA is same as last year, with minor contract langnage changes o Landfill is the same as last year o Cotter is for port-a-pot services at Kiwanis Park o Change Order #1 is Larry's - suggested to move it on the agenda o Change Order #2 is for trees that were damaging the sewer lines, so had to be removed o Cal asked about the status of the pool committee - no progress o Parking requirements - should be under Planning Board, and Cai is just starting on process Public Utilities Department o Change Oder #1 is for curb boxes o Amendment No. I (not "Change Order") is for engineering to put dirt back in the ditch for the water line on Main Street, 3'0 to 8~h Ave. Clerk/Treasurer o MOU with Beartooth RC&D - done every year, just late this year o Marvin Carter brought to the last council meeting o Bonding vs. assessments vs. mills - will explain the differences for each, as related to the parks and pool Depamneat Head Meeting Minutes of May 30, 2006 Executive Review o Perry draRed letter of support for Yellowstone Conservation District grant application for ground water study o Cai also sent one ~om Planning Board o Lighting at Kiwanis Park - new o Preserve America Designation- brought forward by Jennifer Johnson o 08/08/08 - Laurei's Centennial celebration Discussion: Rick - speeding issues around Kiwanis Park - need better enforcement Scott - Engine 1 is in Bozemen - put in call for update o Brush 3 is down, and parts are on the way o Old ladder truck - how to get rid of it o Sam will check Rick- dispatcher equipment is going in- department is chaos o Dispatcher school scheduled for June 12-16 Mary- discussed problem with city-wide computer network caused by installation of dispatcher equipment o Suggested that in future, all aspects ora pwject considered and reviewed F=ny- starting vacation today at noon ClP: 0 0 0 Process done in past to create the CIP book was done by current depaOanent heads Discussed past history, and how the process was dropped by administration Rating process was sound, but implementation was flawed o Perry suggested: · Update each department's needs · Make sure this year's needs are brought forward · Meet next Monday to start again The meeting adjourned at 9:30 a. ra.
