We ask that you please forward this letter and attachment to the chair of the citizen planning board for his/her review. PaCe of the Lincoln Institute's mission is to reach out to citizen planning commissions through its educational programs, publications, multi-media resources and Website. It is for this reason we have developed the Citizen Planners Resource Kit for distribution to local planning boards and commissions across the United States. To learn more about the Lincoln Institute please go to www.lincolninst.edu. The Citizen Planners Resource Kit (CPR Kit) has been designed for volunteer planning commissions and planning boards. We recognize that planning commissions and boards are made up of citizens from the community--volunteere who care deeply about . their community and the planning precess but have limited time for professional planning education. We also know that educational resources are often not readily available to citizen planning commissions and that most resources are designed for professional plannere. The CPR Kit includes publications on smart grewth, regionalism, and conservation easements, as well as a copy of the Institute's quarterly magazine, Land Lines. The kit also includes the Making Sense of Place DVD and free access to online courses designed specifically for citizen planning officials. Please see the enclosed sheet for a complete list of resources included in the CPR Kit. We ara offering the CPR Kit for free because we want citizen planners to have access to recent research, relevant case studies and educational materials that address local and regional planning issues across the United States.
