Overview
The Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) in conjunction with the Montana
Association of Planners (MAP) invites you to attend a one-day Tax Increment Financing (TIF)
workshop. TIF is a state authorized, locally driven funding mechanism for community and economic
development activities. TIF enables cities and towns to direct property taxes that accrue from new
development within a specially designated geographic area to various development activities. In
addition to the GOED and MAP, the session is being co-sponsored by the Montana League of Cities
and Towns, MACo, and the Montana Economic Development Association.
