Dear Mayor and Council Members:
31 January 2006
In July of 200~, the State Board of Land Commissioners approved a Record of Decision (ROD) for the
Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) Real Estate Management Programmatic
Final Environmental Impact Statement. An important component of the ROD was public participation in
the process that the Real Estate Management Bureau uses to identify real estate projects on Trust lands.
As a part of this public outreach, the Real Estate Management Bureau, in conjunction with the Southern
Land Office, will be conducting a public meeting in Billings to discuss the ROD and its implications on
Real Estate activity on Trust lands located in the DNRC Southern Land Office. The Southern Land Office
manages Trust land in Big Horn, Carbon, Musselsbell, Stillwater, Sweet Grass, Treasure and Yellowstone
Counties.
At this meeting members of the DNRC Real Estate Management Bureau (REMB) will be on hand to
present information on various aspects oftbe ROD and FEIS. Additionally, I will present information on
the real estate projects that are currently taking place within the Southern Land Office and also identify
Trust lands that may have potential for development in the future. This meeting is part of a series of
meetings that the REMB is conducting throughout the state to discuss the ROD.
The meeting in Billings will be held on Wednesdav. 15 Febr~r~ 2006 from 6 P,m~ to 8 P.m. at tho
