RE: MONTAHA- MAYOR~ ACADEMY
In late December you were sent information on the Montana Mayors Academy. The
2006 Academy is scheduled for February 1 - 3, 2006 in the Student Union Building on
the MSU, Bozeman campus.
I would like to encourage youto attend the Academy. Jointly sponsored by the Local
Government Center and the MMIA, the Academy is provided through a grant from the
Public Entity Risk Institute (PERI). The funding covers all the program costs, including
meals and lodging. Your government's only expense is your time and travel toand from
aozeman.
The Academy provides sixteen hours of instruction designed specifically for mayors.
The open forum is an excellent opportunity for mayors to interact with their peers and
obtain first hand knowledge of the way others approach issues facing Montana cities
and towns.
I know that your first of the year schedule is hectic, but I would ask that you give serious
consideration to attending. If this fits your schedule, we look forward to receiving your
registration: If you want additional information, please contact me at
bworthinqton(~,mmia.net or (800) 635-3089, or contact Jane Jelinski at the Local
Government Center at ianeielinski~,montana.edu or (406) 994-7756.
A block of rooms has been retained at the Best Western City Center Motel at 507 W
Main in downtown Bozeman. The block will be held through January 20, 2006. For
reservations, call (406) 587-3158. Be sure to mention you are attending the Mayors
Academy.
We look forward to another successful Montana Mayors Academy and welcome your
participation.
