Systems Program changes
WelI time goes on and things change whether we want them to or not. The Systems
program has recently experienced some changes, some of wkich was a surprise and some
which we knew would eventually happen and is now happening. But the work must go
on and it will.
As for that which was anticipated, Lorin Flesjer and Marlene Hughes are:both retiring at
the end of December. We certainly regret that they will be leaving but at the same time
we know ,that they both have dedicated themselves to many years (35 years for Lorin and
33 years for Marlene) of great service to the State of Montana and this bureau. We wish
them well in their retirement and encourage you to do the same.
Craig Shepherd resigned his position effective December 9. We: also appreciate the
contribution Craig made to our program over the last 5 years and Wish him well.
On a positive note, we welcome Susan Nicosia and Brent Small to our staff as accounting
officers. Susan is a CPA and is based in Columbia Falls and will cover the
West/Northwest area of the State. Susan isa former employee of this bureau and we are
excited that she has joined our staff. Her knowledge and expertise will be a great asset.
Brent is also a CPA and will be based in Helena. Brent has a background in local
government auditing and accounting both as a State employee and a private practitioner.
He also will be a positive addition to our staff. Susan can be reaChed at the Columbia
Falls office at (406) 892-2277 and Brent can be reached in Helena at (406) 841-2902 or
cai] the main Helena number at (406) 841-2909. Jere Hey has joined our staff in the
Helena office as our Data Base Technician he can be reached at (406) 841-2909
As always, we are dedicated to providing local governments in the State of Montana the
best service possible. We encourage you to utilize our services to the greatest extent
necessary. We will make every effort to service your needs to the best of our abilities.
