Re:
MMIA Board of Directors Vacancy
Webb Mandeville, Mayor for the Town of Columbus and a Director of the MMIA, has informed
the MMIA Board of Directors that he did not seek reelection, and will be leaving service to the
Town effective January 1,2006. As prescribed by the Bylaws of the MMIA, this Board seat will
become vacant upon his leaving service to the Town of Columbus.
Mr. Mandeville currently holds the At-Large seat on the Board of Directors. The At-Large seat is
elected by the seated members of the Board. The term for this seat extends through the MMIA
Annual meeting in 2006.
The Bylaws of the MMIA require that seated members of the Board appoint an individual to fill
an unexpired term. Representatives of any MMIA member city or town with a population under
20,000 are eligible to hold this seat. The Board is seeking notice from individuals interested in
this position. Notice must be received by the MMIA no later than Fdday, January 13, 2006.
Interested individuals will be considered to fill the vacant position at a meeting of the Board
scheduled for January 20, 2006.
The Board meets eight to ten times per year to direct the operations of your risk retention
organization. Meetings are generally held on Fridays in Helena. Persons interested in this
position should be available to attend regular meetings, a Board retreat scheduled for March 22,
23 & 24, 2006 and stand for election by the membership to a two year term beginning October
2006.
The MMIA Board of Directors is a dynamic organization charged with directing the activities of a
statewide interlocal agency that provides essential risk retention and management services to
Montana cities and towns. Through regional and national training, Board members obtain a
broad understanding of the many aspects of the liability, workers' compensation, property and
employee benefits insurance industries. Board members participating in meetings or training are
reimbursed for lodging and receive per diem and mileage payments.
Individuals interested in being considered for this seat on the MMIA Board are asked to send
notice indicating their interest and providing any pertinent personal information to:
