Thepurpose o£the grant program is to educate, stimulate interest in, and assist with the development of effecEve urban forestryprograms in communizes throughout ~Iontana. Activities that lead to the development o£new urban forestry programs or enhance existing programs are encouraged. The following grant programs are available: ARBOR DA Y GRANTS $150 grants available to any community or organization interested in celebrating Arbor Day; communities with Tree City USA designation since 2004 are eligible for a $400 grant. Match: 35% TREE CITY USA GRANTS $500 grant available For newly designated (2005) Tree City USA communities. Match: 35% TREE ~OR Y; MANA G~ PLAN; TREE ORDINANCE GRANTS Up to $1000 grant available to any community or organization for conducting an urban tree inventory; w~ting an urban forestry management plan and/or a tree or~'nance. Match: 10096 ASSOCIATION OP MONTANA TURF& ORNAMZi~AZ PROFESSIONALS (AMTOP) CONFF_.RE~CE REGIb'TRA lION GRANlY Up to $200 grant available to murdcipa] empIoyees and/or tree board membecs to cover the cost of registering for the 2006 AMTOP Annual Conference and Trade Show. Match: none A total of $40,000 is available for allgrant programs. Communities may apply for more than one grant program although a separate application is required for each grant. The grant deadline for alIprogr~m.e is Febraary L 2~. All project work must be completed by no later than rune 30, 2006 to receive reimbursement. Grant raatch may be cash or in-kind donations.
