Peny welcomed Rick back fi.om the Police Chiefs' Conference in Miami.
Council Workshop Agenda - October 11th
· Planning Board issues
o Cal will submit items for the council workshop agenda.
* Clerk/Treasurer's Year-End Report
o Mary will present the report at the council workshop on October 11th.
Announcements
· Purchasing Policy
o Steve, Sam Perry, Larry, and Mary will meet regarding the Purchasing Policy on
Tuesday, October 11
· Larry and Perry will give the Local Government Review Commission a tour of the
water plant today.
· Mary reported on the League Conference in Helena last week.
o She mentioned that the City of Laurel should look at impact fees.
· Website update
o Technical Edge will prepare a formal presentation to inform the city of the
website options.
o City could have its own web server for e-mail and web hosting.
· A meeting regarding the sewer project is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. today.
o The project is set to go out for bid this month.
· Discussion regarding street closures during the East First Street project
· Library employee had a stroke and will be off for about a month.
o Peg will do some creative scheduling to cover the regular business hours at the
library.
· Discussion regarding the status of the union contract:
o Question about the turnaround timetiame for vacation requests
o Perry stated his understanding is that thc city is waiting on the union to ratify the
contract before it is presented to the city council.
o Perry will contact Sam regarding the status.
· Mary mentioned that the city parking lot looks great.
o Steve stated that the parking blocks and signage still need to be installed in the
parking lot.
